The Queue: where the magic happens
Khadgar hates this euphemism. It’s a good thing I haven’t really built my bedroom yet, then we might really be in trouble.
This is The Queue, the daily column where you ask us questions, and we’re going to spend the next 15 minutes pretending we’re on MTV Cribs.
Q4tQ: For those who have housing unlocked, have you spent more time decorating the interior or exterior?
I’m at a bit of an impasse. I am very much an outdoor girlie. I love nature, and especially watching nature from whatever vantage point I can. This doesn’t fully conflict with my current main, which is a Horde character, because the Cragthorn Highlands and The Bluffs both really do it for me.
The thing is, I want to create a nice little vignette and leave it, adding some seasonal flair, like right now I’d add a little pine tree covered in lights (if that was an option!). I don’t really want to constantly be changing stuff around, because all this housing stuff is really expensive. So because — forgive me Orc loyalists — the current Horde options for the single hideous hut exterior is butt ugly, I am absolutely not going to do a huge, heavy build now. It’s going to wait until I can get that Blood Elf option, which means doing those daily riddles and going to chop some lumber for later.
Q4TQ: Will we ever get non-Dracthyr Evokers?
I know Blizz has commented it would be challenging, with the flying and breath abilities built for the Dracthyr model. But those seem very solvable.
This always seemed like a “…for now” to me. It makes a ton of sense that, in an expansion with a core feature that’s so wrapped up in a huge array of visual assets they’d kick the can down the road on something which would also be very visual asset heavy. Besides, while I get the appeal of using different races, you can always just play a Dracthyr Evoker and then race change later if you truly hate it.
I’d guess we’d see Human and Orc evokers in maybe patch 12.2, maybe 13.
Hey so
hero talents
going away? staying? expanding?
They’re expanded a bit. It’s the same talent tree structure as we currently have, but the central Hero Talent tree has a few more options, and a few things moved around in some cases. I don’t want to make huge blanket generalizations since I’m not at all versed on, say, Death Knights or Warriors, but in the case of Hunters it’s the same dual Hero choice as before (I go with the Beast Master/Survival Pack Leader option), with a new fourth path. The new paths are a bit of a mix of the older talents, with some new stuff thrown in as well.
Your favorite class may vary, but I do think they’ve expanded Hero Talents for all specs, at least a little bit.
Q4tQ Which gaming franchise would you like to see Lego Minifigs for?
The one piece of Lego gaming merch I want is deeply unlikely, but would fit better than just about any other merch tie-in ever.
Blue Prince room build sets.
I think the starter pack would include the entry hall, and then two other rooms at random from a selection of five or six builds, and then there would be the option of getting more rooms, both as blind boxes and deliberately purchased items. Each room would include a doodad like a gem or key, one door that opens and one that doesn’t, and a spoiler or two that you don’t realize is a spoiler until you suddenly realize that it’s a spoiler.
Though, now that I think about it, aside from the per-room props, I could probably just… do this with the big bin of Lego I already have.
