The Queue: Tormented
After a couple of seasons off, I’m back in Diablo-land. There have been a couple of system changes since the last time I played. Things are mostly how I remember them, but also some things are different, and I’m not sure how I feel about the new defensive stat allocation. As always, defensive stats feel the least fun to actually chase after — I just wanna blow demons up faster, don’t make me protect myself at the same time!
I’m still not sure how I’m going to build my Spiritborn this time around; that’s a problem for later. I’ve never done the crazy always be evading build, but also I’m not playing with a mouse wheel, and I don’t want to do weird evade cooldown math. My other options seem to be big Gorilla fun times or lots of exploding lightning feathers.
While I try and choose between a giant eagle and a giant gorilla, it’s time for — The Queue!
Can houses have courtyards?
Asking for a friend.
They don’t seem to have that feature right now, sorry.
However, that just means that you need to get a bit creative and make your own almost courtyard. I’m sure that you could at least make a pair of fake outdoor rooms on either side of a bridge in a very tall room with fluffy cloud kinda objects above you. That’s basically like a courtyard…
At least it feels that way in my head, some trial and error might be in order.
Q4TQ: In WoW, how long do dead bodies and skeletons stick around? I’m leaving a few of my alts bodies outside of my guild leader’s doorstep…
I still am haunted by the gold spammers who would kill swarms of level one characters in Orgrimmar to spell out website names — and those always seemed to last for a while. That could be because of whatever glitch they did to kill those characters in the right pattern, or it could be because of how the server ‘sees’ your dead characters. I also remember the bone piles on Oondasta’s island in Mists of Pandaria lasting for a while. Both of those are outdoor high-traffic areas, unlike your neighborhood and the individual plots therein.
It’s possible that with a high enough traffic neighborhood, you’re going to leave some skeletons that stand the test of time, or they’d just go away on your next respawn. Only one way to find out!
2BE: Lillian Voss vs Vanessa VanCleef
Lillian Voss all week and twice on Sundays. She’s got all those fancy purple shadowy powers, but all Vanessa has are some poison and smoke bombs. Last I checked, poison needs a beating heart to spread around a body. I’m betting all my Blizzard Watch Bux™ on Voss to take it.
Q4tQ: what’s the longest you’ve played a game before discovering a feature that you didn’t know was there? Asking because at twenty-two hours into Octopath Traveler 0, I just today learned that you can zoom in and out with the right thumbstick.
I learned this by accidentally bumping the right thumbstick.
I don’t know what I’ve got like that game-wise, I do have something even more basic though. Did you know that if you’re a second monitor/projector-using person and you need to quickly change your computer’s behavior between duplicating your screen and extending, or showing everything only on one monitor — you can just press the Windows Key+P and it’ll pop out a quick little window for quick changing that? I didn’t!
I’ve been going into the settings every time like a chump!
This is also something that might affect me more as someone who has to help lots of different conference presenters hook up laptops to our tech setup… but still great to know!
Q4TQ: have you ever played Raid: Shadow Legends? do you know anyone who has?
I did once when a former Heroes of the Storm streamer was looking for some quick boosts to help make up for the loss of HOTS income. It was very much a shiny, empty game that was everything wrong with mobile gaming. Lots of microtransactions and thin to non-existent gameplay. It must be sunk cost keeping its whales in, because it seems to have a massive marketing budget for these creator promos. Which I do hear pays out pretty well if you can get your community engaged with it. So if you’re in the position of needing a quick buck, I fully understand running that promo.
Q4tQ: So what trailers from the Game Awards are worth checking out?
I like a bunch of 4th wall-breaking humor and a 90s-style mascot, so this was right up my alley. I don’t want to accidentally break the Queue by embedding a bunch more trailers, but I also liked that we’re going back to the world of Control with Control: Resonant — even if it’s shifting to a different player character from the first game. I’m also a sucker for Warhammer stuff, so I can’t wait to see all the lil shooty Marines battling lil shooty Orks in Total War: Warhammer: 40,000. This Dungeons and Dragons Warlock game Warlock had a good trailer too, but I like the song 46 and 2 from TOOL that they used, so it’s more about the music choice than anything in the trailer.
So, what is everyone having (or did have) for lunch today?
I’m very indecisive
By the time you’ve read this, I’ll have either eaten some leftover pizza or a delicious egg and bacon breakfast sandwich with tater tots. Over the weekend, it was a turkey sandwich and some leftover pasta. Also, some microwave burritos.

Today’s Bacardi is just hanging out with his tongue sticking out. It’s so rare to see him do this that I had to show everybody. Give him a boop, and maybe his brain will catch up, and he’ll remember to pull his tongue inside his mouth. I’m sure that he’ll thank you by providing only the finest loot to your characters this week.
