Which World of Warcraft quests award Player Housing Decor? Here are 12 easy Decor rewards!
With the first few weeks of Player Housing under our belt, it’s time to really get down to brass tacks about decor collecting — and finding quests that reward nice things for our homes and gardens can be a bit overwhelming. To help ease the burden and earn your house some major XP, let’s chase down a few adornments that you might be missing from your catalog which don’t require an expansion’s worth of questing to obtain.
Decor from quests works similar to that awarded for achievements. If you’ve completed the quest in the past, you should have one copy of the item in your housing inventory and the ability to purchase duplicates from a vendor. Given that we’re still in early access, this isn’t always a sure thing. I had to trek all the way to Kun-Lai Summit to buy a Lacquered Rickshaw, even though I completed the necessary quest twelve years ago.
There are a great number of decor rewards that are awarded from quests in the middle or at the end of enormous chains or entire campaigns. For example, the end of the Tauren leveling experience post-Cataclysm rewards a stylish rug. Its absence from my inventory made me realize that I’ve been playing World of Warcraft for two decades but I don’t have a non-Highmountain Tauren character.
Here are a few rewards from quests that won’t require a whole new character or hours of completing campaigns. If you’ve been questing around Azeroth for more than a few years, you’re likely to have some of it already available, but you also might be surprised at some of the easy pick ups.

City Wanderer’s Candleholder, Westfall Woven Basket, and Stormwind Weapon Rack — Alliance characters can don their detective hats and earn three decor pieces from the Westfall story line that starts right outside Jansen Stead. Spend some time with Lieutenant Horatio Lane (a tribute to CSI:Miami’s lead played by David Caruso) and uncover a wide-ranging conspiracy that will lead you deep into the Deadmines, starting with the quest Murder Was the Case They Gave Me.
You’ll earn the fancy candle dish on a side quest fairly early on in the story. Salma Saldean will bestow a handmade basket upon you as thanks for your stew-making efforts, and towards the end of the narrative you get a basic wooden structure to hold your weapons. Once you’ve earned the rack, that’s the end of the decor for the chain, so finishing up business with the Defias is optional (although there are some snazzy House Wrynn transmog weapons that come at the end.)

“Elegant” Lawn Flamingo — A short quest chain in Undermine gets you your very own crudely painted pink bird, which featured heavily in the lead-up promotional material for Player Housing. Find Gerry Clogcraw outside of the Incontinental Hotel and complete some rather intense last-minute wedding planning and logistics to earn your very own HOA-needling lawn ornament.
Freywold Fountain — If you come across an abandoned package on the Isle of Dorn, you can deliver it to Harvester Farnee at his cabin just east of Mourning Rise. He has a brief series of errands for you, ranging from ramolith foot care to honey gathering. Once you’ve helped him heal and awaken the local Mountain Giant, he’ll be chuffed enough to gift you an Earthen-themed water feature.
Wooden Outhouse — I was pleasantly surprised to see a classic wooden privy (complete with a stereotypical crescent moon carved into the door) in several of my neighbor’s yards. It turns out that three short quests with an Alliance character will net you a personal outdoor commode. Head to Amberpine Lodge in Grizzly Hills and find a basket by the back door to pick up Mmm…Amberseeds! A few hilariously disgusting minutes later, you’ll be the proud owner of this all-terrain latrine.

Eversong Party Platter — If you like to host your guildmates for light appetizers before raid time, you’ll want to pick up this wooden serving board with a wheel of cheese and a bunch of grapes. Head back to the Northrend version of Dalaran and complete the Cooking daily Cheese for Glowergold. The dailies rotate, so while you’ll have to be patient, you can complete the quest with an army of alts for the ability to set out a true smörgåsbord. Even characters that never set foot in a Wrath of the Lich King zone can learn cooking from the daily quest giver as long as they’re above level 10.
Bloodtotem Banner — This is a red-and-white tapestry that hangs on Tauren-style wooden pegs. While you will need to be exalted with the Highmountain Tauren, Legion: Remix has let players breeze through the reputation tracks of Broken Isles factions. After exalted, you’ll earn a reward chest for every 10,000 extra reputation, and this seems to be a guaranteed drop from each chest.
Self-Sealing Stembarrel, Small H.O.M.E. Cog, Small Mechanical Crate, and Retired Industrial Gnomegrabber — Head out to Mechagon and seek out the daily quest-givers if you’re looking to add some stylish Gnome tinker-decor to your living space. Some of the daily quests can reward a Self-Assembling Homeware Kit, which will contain one of these four fabulous gizmos.

Bradensbrook Smoke Lantern –You can pick up this studded lamp in the haunted village on the western coast of Val’sharah. Just a few quests into helping the locals with their pesky undead problem you’ll be asked to avenge a poor farmer who was killed by a zombie bird. You’ll get the lantern as well as the recipe for the farmer’s favorite seafood dish.
Shaohao Ceremonial Bell — Pop over to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms for a quick tour of the Scenarios feature that rewards an enormous chime housed in a signature Pandaren structure. Make sure you talk to Zidormi to return to the past version of the Vale, then head into Lorewalker Cho’s headquarters above Mogu’shan Palace. Starting with The King and Council, you’ll run through a quick retelling of recent events elsewhere in the world a few times in a sort of proto-Lorewalking experience. After three Scenarios, you should receive your very own bell.
Wooden Doghouse — This one might take you a significant effort if you didn’t go through a gardening phase during Mists of Pandaria, but if you’re already revered with The Tillers then you’ll just need to find Dog in the Valley of the Four Winds. For completing the quest that makes him appear on your farm, you’ll now also be able to add his doghouse to your new home’s backyard. Don’t forget to complete the full series of cross-expansion tasks to pick him up as a non-battling companion pet so he can follow you around your Neighborhood. You’ll need to supply your own Dog, but hopefully the ability to permanently add our faithful friend to our homes is on the developers’ radar.
