Which upcoming systems change from the Midnight pre-patch are your most optimistic about?

Tuesday brings the Midnight pre-patch and a number of systems changes, from transmog to UI to class overhauls. As usual I feel ways about stuff, and whether you’re a relatively new player or a Veteran of the Old Content, you probably have features you’re feeling good about and others you’re dreading.

Transmog changes are going to be major, and at the final hour we are hearing that there is cause for optimism for players like me. I’m a transmogrification fiend, and I rarely go more than an hour without swapping my hat, staff, or entire ensemble. Having a dozen outfits to freely swap between will be nice, but changes to those outfits looked to cost much more than in The War Within throughout most of Midnight’s beta. It does look like those costs have been nerfed significantly, so I’ll keep myself at “cautious hopefulness” until I see the system in action at max level.

I can’t say I’m feeling too great about the user interface changes, either. I played World of Warcraft for a decade without any addon assistance in combat, but in my second decade of play I put together and minutely customized a set of WeakAuras for each of my characters that will be going up in smoke on Tuesday. I have not spent too much time poking around the new Cooldown Manager, but even if it is easy to use and intuitive it will feel like starting over from square one.

What I am most optimistic about, and actively looking forward to, are the class changes. I might be in the minority, but I am not particularly attached to the exact configuration of spells and cooldowns on the classes that I play the most. Blizzard has stated that the overall aim of rebuilding all 40 specializations is an overall reduction in complexity. That suits me just fine, and I feel like it could even lead to an easier time switching between my army of alts to run higher-tier Delves or other end game content.

So which systems change do you have a really good feeling about? Are there any that you are dreading? Either way, we’ll have a few weeks to adjust before we are called to the defense of the Sunwell at Midnight’s launch.
