Blizzard Watch Weekly: The cutest little murloc we ever did see (and more Blizzard news)
It’s been a crazy week with the Midnight pre-patch rolling out, and then having to figure out brand new builds, and set up our UIs from scratch (with double the addons), and (worst of all) set up new transmogs for every single character. Ugh!
Now it’s a week later and my transmogs still aren’t all right, but I’m working on it. In the meantime, let’s take stock on everything that’s been happening over the last week and what’s coming up next week. Here’s our weekly rundown of Blizzard news.
What happened last week?
- The Midnight pre-patch is now live, with a pile of class changes, a huge addon rework, a brand new transmog system (which has already gotten a price cut), and a couple of bugs. One or two, including changing factions breaking transmog. Fortunately we still have a month until Midnight itself launches, so there’s time to work out the kinks in the system.
- … but the biggest thing that went live in the pre-patch (yes, even bigger than transmog) is Endeavors have finally arrived in our Player Housing Neighborhoods. Here’s a rundown how to participate in Endeavors, a list of Endeavor rewards (that we know about so far), how to earn Community Coupons to buy those rewards,
- Because our addons are all a wreck, we’re continuing to check out what we can do with Blizzard’s new built-in tools. Here’s how to use the new damage meter (and here are our thoughts on the cooldown manager, in case you missed that post last week).
- We found out that it may just be a tiny bit easier to farm lumber in Midnight. A tiny bit, but that’s still something.
- What a delight! On Friday, Blizzard gifted us with a new short story featuring Umbric and Rommath.
- Blizzard made the most adorable little plush Murloc that we ever did see, and it’s available as a piece of decor to decorate your home. Pick it up as a Twitch Drop now through February 17 — here’s how.
- Legion Remix may be over, but you can still pick up the decor rewards… at a pretty high price, but they are technically still available if you still need more owls.
- We’re doubling up on turns this week in the Temporus Shift Tavern Brawl, where every turn turns into two turns. We have some decks to help you win this double time Brawl.
What’s happening this week (and beyond)
- January 27: The Midnight pre-patch event begins, and we have a rundown to help you earn the event’s rewards, including the not-suspicious-at-all Definitely Not a Cultist title.
- Through January 31: Diablo 3’s Darkening of Tristram event wraps up on January 31, so you’re running out of time to jump on this one!
- February 5: The Burning Crusade Classic launches on Classic Anniversary realms
- Through February 17: The Cuddly Green Grrgl plushie decor Twitch Drop is available to decorate your in-game home through the 17th! Just watch four hours of Warcraft streams on Twitch to get yours.
- Until they’re gone: BlizzCon 2026 tickets are on sale
Other things we’re playing, watching, and more
- This week’s Epic Games Store freebie is Rustler, for when you want those GTA vibes but maybe in a more low tech setting. Call it grand theft horse, which will either appeal to you or it won’t. (But it’s free until Thursday, either way.)
- It’s been a cold week, which means we’ve been inside watching The Girl With Dogs groom cats on YouTube. Yes, cats. This is a woman who fears nothing.
