The Queue: Girl Dinner
Every time I go to the grocery store I immediately want to eat everything I just purchased. As such, my lunch today is a mini croissant, a couple strawberries, some cheese, a few fritos, and a handful of chocolate chips. Is it a meal? Is it a snack? Who knows, but I’m sure my blood pressure has something to say about it!
This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us the questions and we’ll supply the answers as we sit on our desk with a small bowl of salt and pepper cashews (they were on sale this week!).
So I’ve been essentially downtime farming the prepatch event just to have something to do and I’ve already gotten all the vendor stuff. I should have everything unlocked tonight if I play anymore. The 5-minute respawn makes a huge difference not only in minimizing your downtime but also in making more players willing to stick around so you can get through the fights faster.
I’ve been doing this as well, but I am rather empathically not done. I have one of just about everything I want, but because they’re all “ah, but if you want to place multiple you need to attain multiple copies,” it’s a dangerous combo of general FOMO, plus the fact that so many things look better if they’re placed multiple times!
Right now I’m working toward multiples of the blood elf chaise lounge, after which I’m going to continue grinding til the end of the event and purchase as many candelabras as I have currency to purchase. I have a plan (somewhat) for the lounges and a couple candelabras, but those are one of those items where I’ll probably find uses for more if I have them.
That said,
4tQ: Do we know if the housing decor from the event will be on a vendor post pre-patch? Will it only be on the vendor if we purchase one during the event?
There will be a vendor for all the prepatch stuff in Silvermoon City. No word yet on how expensive it will be (or what currency it will use), but if Legino Remix post-facto vendors are any indication, very.
I’d farm up as much as you can stomach now.
Q4tQ: do you ever feel like you need to finish everything in the part of the game you’re playing in one go, or are you fine with stopping your play before the story reaches a good stopping point?
I realize this doesn’t much apply to WoW, but I had to save and quit for the night in OT0 because I was clearly about to fight a boss and in this game, that could mean anything from five minutes to half an hour, depending on the fight and the dialogue scenes. And I do need to sleep soon.
As long as I’m at or near a save point, I’ll drop a game session whenever. However, I’ve often “pushed through” a mediocre game because I know that if I drop it for any extended period of time I’ll completely forget the mechanics and the controls, not to mention what the heck I was even doing. I’ve picked a game back up only to just throw in the towel and begin a new save not infrequently.
I’ll also admit that there’s still one section in Blue Prince that I dropped off, and I keep kinda intending to pick it back up, but ugh and meh. But I really need to finish, if only to free up like, 4 gigs of screenshots on my hard drive.
Q4tQ Have you purchased any additional Outfit slots?
heh, yeah. Not many, but I needed to have a way to use my newly acquired pink sweatsuit when I’m hangin out at my house. I also have a “Blood Elf”-y set, an “outsdoorsy” one which is mostly simple, leather-ish models, and then one that I use just for messing around.
Two questions for the QftQ: After all the years we’ve been asking for it, are you still engaging in housing content? And (screenshots only) are you using the the outdoor rooms at all? None of them can be as awkward as mine.
It’s funny, I’ve engaged a lot with the exterior and the neighborhood, but the inside, barely at all. I think I have one room. Maybe.
A big part of it is, almost any look or design I think up, I have maybe a quarter of the junk to actually execute it. While bushes and flowers to decorate the outside are everywhere, interior elements, even non-specific ones, seem like they’re flung to the four corners of the earth. I wanted a smallish vase-type thing to put flowers on a circular table. Tracking down a vase, any vase, took forever — I wound up in Highmountain, and had to remember where the heck to get those weird little expansion-specific resources to purchase it.
The only decor I’ve had any issues with for the exterior is a mailbox, and for that all I needed to do was to portal to Crystalsong Dalaran to learn a recipe, then get a fistful of lumber.
