Jetpack Cat (and 4 more Heroes) joins the Overwatch lineup February 10
Today’s Overwatch presentation revealed that we’re getting a whole lot of new content darn imminently, with the advent of season 1 February 10, including five new Heroes. One of those Heroes is Jetpack Cat, who’s been a rumored next hero since a Reddit AMA with former narrative lead Michael Chu in 2016, and has been a running in-joke since Brigitte’s debut. To see her in game at long last is a welcome surprise.
In a twist, Jetpack Cat, whose name is Fika, is also a Support Hero. She’s the one of two new Support Heroes coming with season 1. She also has, you know, a jetpack, and so can fly permanently, though her gameplay does involve keeping an eye on your fuel. The other Support Hero is Mizuki. The two both have a ton of movement utility, but will be at odds even more than usual — Jetpack Cat is aligned with Overwatch while Mizuki is aligned with Talon.
That’s another new feature: for the next year, there will be an ongoing Overwatch versus Talon narrative theme, so each character now has an alignment within that narrative. Many of those are already established, but it seems to serve a grander mechanical purpose through the year.
Joining Mizuki on Talon is Domina, a Tank who is the Vice President of Vishkar, and as such has a lot of hard light abilities — and her being both Vishkar and Talon is an interesting bit of narrative itself. With them is Emre, the only DPS character who, like Reaper, was originally an Overwatch operative, who now has a kit that includes lifesteal.
But Jetpack Cat isn’t alone in this new set of five heroes — Anran, a DPS character, is also aligned with Overwatch. Anran is formally releasing February 10, but he will be available in a Hero Trial prior to that, from February 5-10. Anran’s kit uses a lot of fire, which includes an ultimate he can use to explode and self-revive in the explosion.
There are ten Heroes coming to Overwatch in 2026, and these five are just the beginning.
