The Queue: Bacteria will eat your flesh
Just trust me on this. It’s very unpleasant. Just let me put it this way, I really feel for Azeroth right about now.
Q4tQ Can you “pause” your 6mo/1yr WoW subscription?
(to clarify: not the renewal, but during the active period)
I looked into this, and the results were as follows:
- You can pause a normal month to month sub by simply telling them you’re going to be pausing it.
- So far I’ve seen, your best bet for pausing during a six month/one year sub is to submit a ticket with an explanation of your situation. This doesn’t seem to be a guaranteed thing, but it seems to be the only way to keep from losing your playing time while on a long break.
- I am sure I could have missed something so if someone in the comments has a better answer by all means please leave it.
Q4TQ: Sparked by Liz’s comment above about not having decided on a main yet:
Who are your main contenders so far regarding race/class/spec for first stepping into Midnight with?
And why?
My contenders:
- Night Elf Fury Warrior — She’s been my main since Legion and I enjoy playing her. I like the way Night Elves feel as Warriors and I have a pretty fun headcanon built up for her.
- Human Arms Warrior — My original character (rolled him in 2004) and I know I’ll play him at some point, might as well be my first character, haven’t decided yet.
- Draenei Protection Warrior — I like space goats,
- Tauren Protection Warrior — I also like Minotaurs.
- Undead Fury Warrior — No idea why, but I’ve been having fun with this one.
- I’m considering leveling up one of my other Warriors, like my Worgen or Orc.
Yes, we all knew they were going to be Warriors. If Dracthyr showed their armor more, I’d probably just level one and pretend it was a Dinosaur Warrior.
I agree that the Reign of Talon cinematic really did not land, emotionally.
A part of that is the animation is visibly cheaper (Vendett’a hair, woof).
But I’m glad they’re at least attempting to tell a story again.
Even OW1 never managed to do much more than flesh out OW’s history. They’ve been struggling to tell a story about OW’s future for a decade.
The problem I have here is that I am an old, dying husk and both my body and my soul are decaying. I feel very little emotion for any of the Overwatch cinematics, including ones that absolutely destroyed a lot of my friends. Bastion? I get why people like it but it never reached me. Soldier 76? Eeeeeh. I enjoyed the Sombra one, but honestly, the only one that ever really got my attention was the really rather excellent Overwatch 2 cinematic trailer from 2019.
And I think that might be part of the problem I have with Overwatch 2. It’s hard for me to judge the game as it actually is — its pros, its cons, how it does what it sets out to do — because I’m always judging the game against the spectre of a game that never actually released. I was sold on a new game, one that would have coexisted with Overwatch but provided an entirely new type of game for these characters.
That game does not exist. It is not fair that I keep comparing the game that we have with the one that never actually was, but that’s the problem Blizzard is dealing with here at least for me.
Good morning, Queue.
Anyone else caught between “how is it already Thursday” and “how is it only Thursday”?
I have to have a nurse come to my house every day to change the bandages on the ruin of my foot, which has rapidly turned into John Carpenter’s My Foot, so for me, every day is cosmic horror featuring the ruins of my body. I have no idea what any day is beyond that.
Oh, and I am now playing Diablo 3 on M/W/F and Diablo 4 on T/T/S/Sun, which helps me differentiate the days to a small degree. I need another new ARPG, just for variety.
Finally got my copy of the Tifa/Aerith novel delivered but in opening the box with a stanley knife I scratched the front cover because the dumbasses didn’t put any kind of packaging or covering over the stuff inside
It is a tiny scratch, invisible unless you’re looking for it, can feel it more than see it
But I know it’s there and it’ll drive me insane forever
You have no ideas how much I sympathize with you right now. I kickstarted the Exalted 3rd Edition and got the special collector’s edition shipped to me (back when I had money for such things) and let me tell you, realizing that it had a small dent on the cover that was barely even noticeable but which I couldn’t not see every time I looked at it? It literally led me to give it to a friend I knew wouldn’t notice it, because it made my soul hurt.
Okay, that’s the Queue for me. Sorry about the whole being eaten by microscopic life thing. Definitely makes me wonder if Silithus is Azeroth’s feet.
