Blizzard Watch Weekly: Jetpack Cat and other, less interesting news from last week
It’s Monday, so it’s time to try to catch up on the last week in Blizzard games. And while I think that Jetpack Cat coming to Overwatch is the only thing worth talking about this week, apparently a few other things happened, so let’s buckle in and run through the week.
Here’s what happened last week and what’s coming up this week.
What happened last week?
- Overwatch’s newest hero is Jetpack Cat. That’s it. That’s the news.
- …also there are four more new heroes, all going live on February 10. But we only care about Jetpack Cat.
- …also there are five more new heroes coming out in 2026.
- …also there’s a new story cinematic, which kicks off a new in-game story arc focused on Talon, now under new leadership.
- …also Overwatch is dropping the “2.” It’s just Overwatch now… but, no, it has not gone back to original Overwatch mechanics.
- There’s so much coming to WoW Player Housing, and we’ve rounded up every upcoming feature that Blizzard has mentioned so far. (Though, no, we don’t have release dates for any of them.)
- Are you ready to head back to Northrend? If not, you still have time to mentally prepare to head back in The Last Titan expansion, which will feature a revamped Northrend.
- Diablo 4 Season 12 is set to be a light one that’s all about killstreaks. And killstreaks are great, but that’s it. We’ll see how it feels in practice when it launches in March.
- Garden clusters are now available for WoW Player Housing, and picking up these collections of multiple plants is going to save you so much decor budget if you’re trying to build a lush garden. (And who isn’t?)
- Coming soon(tm): Blizzard’s newest charity pet, Roofus. This precious pup is so adorable that I have nothing more to say. I just want to have my own Roofus.
- Looking to make the most out of transmog? Confused by the new system? Not sure what an outfit is but afraid to ask? Eric wrote up a transmog guide to help you out.
- We also have a guide (also written by Eric) on how to get our favorite piece of Player Housing Decor, the “Elegant” Lawn Flamingo.
- The latest Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is the Blood Magic (Wild) Brawl, which we rate a 0 out of 10 for fun. But we have some deck suggestions to help you win a match and move on with your life.
