The Queue: So tired

For various hockey-related reasons, I had to wake up before 6 am on Sunday. Then I had to watch a whole hockey game and a little bit of overtime. Then I had to be sad for the rest of the day.

Needless to say, I’m pretty tired now. I drank a lot of coffee today.

While I get ready for a nice big nap, it’s time for our daily question and answer column — The Queue!

Unfortunately, just like in real life, it seems to be spending a lot of money on buying a bunch of decor and learning it for easy experience. That’s been what I’ve seen around as the best way to rise through the ranks. If you can spend a lot of time doing your housing endeavours, that will help a bunch, too.

I would make it more interactive! I’m thinking something similar to the Fortnite mechanic, where you can hold the mouse down for chopping, but if you also aim at the targeted points, you do extra damage, go faster, and collect more lumber.

I would also put a Gnome Depot into the game that could sell you lumber from different expansions for gold. But you run the risk of having warped and unusable lumber in your purchases and have to make additional trips back to the store in order to get enough for your needs.

I got in the habit of dumping mats hand over fist as soon as the commodities market showed up. Has this potentially bit me in the butt now that housing is in? Yes, yes, it has. Has it also made me some decent money? Also yes.

So now I’ve got an empty stash, a full bag of gold, and I’m ready to go on a multi-continent killing spree to get the materials needed for stuff. I guess everything worked out just the way Blizzard hoped it would. I’m not sure how this addition will change my gameplay in the long term. Will I be more likely to sell stuff early on for the boost in gold as everyone is trying to craft the new hotness in each expansion? Will I make every one of my alts gathering professions only because of how easy it is to make easy money now?

Bobsled.

I’ve said it both ways out loud a few times now, and bobsleigh just feels weird.

Someday, I hope that I get the chance to ride one of those down a proper track; apparently, it’s a nightmare, and it feels like your body is being shaken apart. Which, of course, means I gotta give it a shot.

Ship captain easily.

I listen to so many sea shanties that it just makes sense. I would also accept an interstellar ship captain, and sail the void out there between planets, hunting for space whales for space whale oil for my space lanterns. Or whatever we’re doing out there in the inky black of space. Possibly asteroid mining, but most likely space whaling.

Railroad conductor would be ok, I guess, but they need some better music before I want to commit to it.

You do! It’s got so much weirdness and charm crammed into it; it’s my favorite of that era of Final Fantasy games. I like it more than seven, and about on par with nine. Where else will you find the hot dog-obsessed punchy guy, dog-launching girl, strong/silent guy with a sword/gun, and a military academy/floating city?  Nowhere else I know, that’s for sure!

Bacardi got up early to watch the gold medal game with me. It’s easy to see who he’s cheering for, thanks to my favorite person gifting him this very real and not hand-drawn Team Canada jersey. He’d have his own, but he spends his allowance on treats. He’s still pretty bummed about the outcome of the game too, so you better bribe him well this week for your shiny loot.
