The Queue: This is Liz writing Thursday’s Queue
I labeled this Queue carefully so I would not forget about it. But I may have created a problem, because Queues like having unique names, and I’m going to run out of headline variations at some point.
Fortunately that’s a problem for future Liz, and present Liz is doing just fine.
This is the Queue, our daily Q&A column where you ask questions, I try to answer them, and we all get to hang out in the comments section.
Q4TQ: what would you think about a patch based entirely on the Darkmoon Faire? Massively revamping the island, and giving it quests that finally try to delve into the weird stuff going on there (Old Gods?!?).
(Of course, the questing would be accessible even while the Faire itself isn’t active.)
I leveled a warlock during Legion Remix, which means I skipped all of the regular in-game warlock content.
When I moved into regular WoW, I saw I had a quest that told me to go to the Darkmoon Faire.
The Faire was empty of Fairegoers, vendors, questgivers, and was instead populated by demons. Demons and a warlock who insisted that none of this was at all odd or suspicious, and if you pushed the matter would lock you in a cage. Just like a totally ordinary non-suspicious person would do.
It’s a warlock quest, but it immediately presented me with a world of questions. What’s the Darkmoon Faire like when all the guests call it a night? What is the Faire like for the three weeks of the year it’s not accessible? What the heck is going on with this weird island?
It’s a strange little corner of Warcraft that’s ripe for storytelling, and I think it would be great if we could do more questing and exploring. You mentioned delving as in delving into Darkmoon Island, but why not a Darkmoon Delve? Delves can be fun because they can have different stories that rotate through them, so you could see slightly different faces of the Faire in a Delve that rotated storylines.
There’s nothing but possibility here!
New England weather sounds like some sort of ancient riddle:
I was 0 Sunday night,
yesterday I was snow and ice,
today I am 51 and sunny,
but next week I am a polar vortex
It’s been a wild winter, but I hope there isn’t another polar vortex next week. I’m going to avoid checking the weather so I don’t have to worry about it. (I’m pretty sure that’s how it works.)
Q4tQ: Why is Blizzard partnering with the Edmonton Oilers again? Wrong answers only.
Cross promotion for an upcoming Warcraft on Ice tour.
No, really, just imagine it. I said it as a joke, but actually it could be perfect.
Q4TQ: How into the various secrets across Blizzards games are you? Do you still care about the Cow Level in D4? Was the impressionist Tauren painting something you had to have above your mantle in Warcraft?
Secrets have gotten more convoluted than I can often keep up with. But I do love finding smaller secrets and easter eggs, fun little asides from the larger game.
Like the Shu’halo Perspective painting. I adore it. I must have it. I will give it its own special room in my home. But I definitely don’t have ten million gold to put towards it, so I’m glad there’s a workaround that is a little time-consuming but not 87 steps that I won’t be able to keep track of. Perfection.
The cow level though, that’s not a secret. It’s real. It’s there somewhere. We just have to find a way to rip a hole in reality to get there. No big deal in a place like Sanctuary. We’ll find our way there eventually.
We haven’t found the cow level today, but we could find it tomorrow. You never know.
But this is Liz, signing out. Take care everyone, and I’ll see you in the comments section.
