Blizzard Watch Weekly: An original Moocaso, the latest from Diablo 4, and more of this week’s Blizzard news
Last week, World of Warcraft’s Midnight expansion officially launched worldwide, and between playing the game and writing about the game, we’ve been pretty busy. But we also got a big info drop from the Diablo 4 team, with a batch of new content coming out this week, so there’s really no rest for the weary. (Or the wicked.)
If you’re behind on the latest news, we’re here to help: here’s a look back what happened last week, and what’s coming up this week.
What happened last week?
- Diablo 4 gave us a closer look at the new Warlock class launching with the Lord of Hatred expansion next month.
- …but more interestingly, the team announced massive new mechanics coming with Season 12, which starts on March 11. We knew the upcoming Season of Slaughter would focus on a new Killstreak mechanic and gear that seriously buffed those Killstreaks, but now the season also adds several ways to become the Butcher to hunt your enemies. Fresh meat indeed.
- The first week of the new season also invites players to check out the new Paladin class, and play up to level 25. The Paladin free trial runs from March 11 to March 18!
- Diablo 4 also has a new novel coming out, in which we accompany Lorath to Skovos on a mission to find the lost Horadrim expedition sent by Tyrael many years ago. Of course, it all goes wrong.
- Midnight launched on Monday, and we’ve all been digging into World of Warcraft’s newest expansion and forming first impressions. We have some guides on some of the things in the new expansion that had us scratching our head:
- What is Luminous Dust, and what do I do with it?
- How to obtain the Shu’halo Perspective painting decor for less than 9,999,999 gold. (Much less, even though this original Moocaso is certainly worth it.)
- How to unlock Mysterious Skyshards to get the Echo of Aln’Sahran mount.
- How to upgrade gear in Midnight
- How to unlock steady flight in Midnight
- This week’s Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is the Spellbook Duel Brawl, in which you pick ten cards and that’s it, that’s your deck. It’s a Brawl that begs for the perfect card combos, and we have some decks for you to win with!
- Blizzard Watch is looking for a few good writers, so why don’t you throw your hat in the ring? You may be just the person we’re looking for.
