The Queue: behold!
My favorite thing about gaming is the weird lil guys. They’re rarer in AAA, but they’re there if you look.
This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us the questions, and we don’t have answers. Just fish.
QftQ: If my interest in housing is basically negative, is there any reason to spend any time with the Arcantina?
I find the housing aspect of it kinda lukewarm. I don’t really want an Ebon Blade banner in my cozy lil cottage, and most of the quests related to Arcantina decor seem to be about that speed.
I love rubbing elbows with my sidekick homies from the past. Tehd and Marius, Thisalee Crow, even Bob from Hearthstone. For me, that’s the main draw: the little nostalgia hit.
But if you’re coming at it from a purely utilitarian standpoint, I actually do have the Arcantina Key on my utility bar where I also have stuff like my Dalaran hearthstone and my fishing casting hotkey. This is because when you return to the Arcantina, it always ports you to the main inn at the center of Silvermoon City, so that basically frees up my regular hearthstone to be set where I’m doing quests or whatever else. Right now it’s set somewhere in the middle of Harandar because I have a ton of loose quest ends in that zone. So, yep, probably going through the Arcantina a few times every day.
Are bountiful delves a thing yet? Or does that start with season 1?
I’m guessing the Twilight’s Blade will be the main delve antagonists for S1?
Starts off with season 1, yeah. And Twilight’s Blade seems to be the major antagonist, but also most of the Delves I’ve delved so far have been in Eversong, so it may be different in, say, Harandar. I do like the idea that our antagonist(s) may evolve through the seasons, too.
I will say though that The Grudge Pit is 10/10 no matter who I happen to be fighting.
Why is my profession gear showing when I mine/fish again and how can I make it stop
last time I remember having to address this was when it came out in dragon lands
I’m not sure why it would have changed with the new expansion, but there’s a new Mahra Treebender NPC in the small tent/gazebo with the crafting order and Artisan’s Consortium NPC you’re first directed to just on the right of the main road after you leave the Sunwell. Talk to her about turning off the visual display of your crafting equipment.
Q4tQ: do you ever make a new save game right before an important event so you can do back and do that event over afterwards? Asking because I just did that before a scene in BG3 and now I’m sort of curious what happens with the dialogue options I didn’t take.
If you don’t attempt to save scum before doing something risky, regardless of whether it’s because of branched narrative or taking a leap of faith off the closest cliff, are you even gaming?
And yes, I also used to read Choose Your Own Adventure books and keep my fingers in the pages of my previous choices so I could flip backwards if it went bad.
