Two precious pups are yours to pursue early on from the Blood Elves in World of Warcraft Midnight

World of Warcraft Midnight is the Light versus Void face-off we’ve been waiting for, but today we’re thinking smaller — much smaller — because cuteness doesn’t need to exist on a cosmic scale to warm our hearts. Instead of the macro, we’re focusing on the micro — a companion (formerly battle) pet and a toy, two darling doggos that may turn you into the meme of Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn 99. You absolutely need to make them your own because they are wildly adorable and obtaining each only requires completing a few side quests to achieve. Let’s meet our two cuddly canines and discuss how you can add them to your collection while leveling through Midnight.

Our first pup, Luma, is a feisty little dachshund with a taste for fine things. She is also the reward for completing a chain of side quests in Eversong Woods. The “Theft Tracking” storyline starts with the quest Second Time’s A Choice from Instructor Antheol at Fairbreeze Village and sends you on a five-quest hunt through the West Sanctum for a journal.

Now, if you don’t see the initial quest available from Antheol, don’t panic. A very helpful commenter pointed out that you might already have started the second quest, Reenact the Crime, from Magister Meledor. Once you’ve confirmed you have the quest, use the Arcane Timepiece given to you in the West Sanctum to progress it; you don’t need to have started with the first quest from Instructor Antheol.

Of course, Luma is a perfect baby who has never done anything wrong and never will. Look at that face! She chases her tail! If you’d prefer a model with darker coloration, you may want to check out Willie (with the classic black-and-tan pattern), dropped by the Half-Digested Viscera treasure in Voidstorm.

The other cutie pie on our roster has had a very busy day. Lil’ Scoots (who looks very similar to the aforementioned Willie) has been romping around Silvermoon City, generally causing a ruckus, and the side quest storyline “Scootin’ Through Silvermoon” has us both chasing and cleaning up after him.

Our pursuit starts with the quest Hounded and Hassled from Ranger Telenus in Silvermoon’s Garden of Remembrance; like Luma, a few quick tasks later and we’re returning to Telenus with the sleepy boy in arm. We receive the toy Lil’ Scoots’ Pillow as reward from the last quest. Click on the toy and cradle the sleeping dog on his pillow for a few seconds in game. It is legitimately soothing.

Both are available fairly early on — I earned Lil’ Scoots’ Pillow after completing the expansion introduction and entering Silvermoon City. As a bonus, knocking out both of them completes two of the 17 quests required for the Sojourner of Eversong Woods achievement. I dare you to not turn into the Brooklyn 99 Rosa Diaz meme over these darling doggos. So get out there and start questing — Luma and Lil’ Scoots need to be in your collection ASAP.
