The Queue: The Light at the End of All Things

I am at that peculiar crossroads between excited anticipation, and the melancholy that comes when something is over. The final episode of The Long Dark‘s story mode releases today. While I’ll still be able to keep playing it in survival mode, and revisit the story as well, it remains one of my most cherished gaming experiences, and I had a genuine lump in my throat when they announced it “went gold” on Steam a couple weeks ago.

This is it. It’s almost over. But it’s almost a new beginning.

This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and I definitely didn’t write this early so I could binge a video game for the rest of the day.

Technically yes! The cinematic for the end of the raid is also out in the wilds. Here’s a link for it on Wowhead if you’d like. So, spoiler alert (and as always, be kind and use spoiler tags below when you’re discussing it).

But in practical Raid for World First terms, the big guys are starting off the day with splits and M+ for gear before they get rolling in earnest on the new stuff.

I unlocked them as I was doing my pomodoro to collect Queue questions, with Pignic being the last. Pignic and Bellblossom are my favorites, and in this expansion I’ve actually been using Bellblossom instead of Dustbunny. Unfortunately, Bellblossom uses the new “helpful watering” animation, where the watering can is on her head and she tips over and the water comes out. Because it’s on my second monitor as I type, I keep thinking she’s throwing up.

Dustbunny is still my ride-or-die but I feel like being exposed to the elements too much probably won’t be good for her fur. Plus, fewer things to hide under.

I’m just realizing I barely heard about the Shamrock Shake this year. huh. Interesting.

Anyway, I’ll go either way, but I tend to be a little wary of the undyed stuff when it isn’t in the sealed containers. What if it’s actually just vanilla with chocolate chunks? That wouldn’t be gross or anything but if I’m expecting mint chocolate chip and get not that.
