Our favorite 2026 April Fools’ Day jokes
April Fools’ Day 2026 had a great selection of jokes from the various Blizzard games — and even a few standouts from other companies as well. I’d honestly say this was the best April Fools’ Day in the last few years. I only saw a couple of duds in all of the jokes that crossed my feeds, and those are already forgotten after getting my hands dirty in a couple of matches of Overwatch’s silly Underwatch mode.
Here are the best of the best bits from this year!

Blizzard’s new animated series
I’m sorry to say that no, Blizzard hasn’t given us at Blizzard Watch the scoop on an exclusive new animated series focusing on the Titans. It seems plausible, though! Telling a story about cosmic roommates would let them tell a story without worrying about messing up the in-game timeline of the Warcraft universe. I just hope that when the time comes to actually make an animated Warcraft series for TV, they consider Eric’s very good idea.

World of Warcraft’s definitely real patch notes
Somebody in the World of Warcraft office once again accidentally published an in-progress list of 100% real notes coming for World of Warcraft patch 12.0.9. We’ve got housing decor to use as transmog, Dwarves finally getting a tail option like they’ve always wanted, and a whole bunch of new instanced content for role players. I am a little sad that we didn’t get a full list of balance notes for all the classes as we have in previous years, but I am elated that the game is finally fully balanced! Plus, this new dungeon sounds like it’s gonna be lit — like the kids say.
Okay so this new dungeon hits different. It’s basically snatched, giving absolute chaos energy like, so delulu. Imagine pulling up with your aura farming besties and the brainrot is instantly out of pocket. The whole place is low-key haunted but also high-key chopped, with fire mobs that straight up do not pass the vibe check and bosses that are built different, no cap. Stack properly or get deleted in 4K and you’re cooked like, in your flop era wipemaxxing. Big yikes. Overall, this one’s looking pretty goated, but everyone in your squad will have to understand the assignment so that you can say you ate; no crumbs.
A new fowl overlord for Diablo 4
The forces of evil have a new master, and it’s apparently a giant chicken. Until April 7, 2026, all world bosses are replaced with the fearsome fowl overlord — Chi’Khan. Defeating this feathered fiend will get you the Bawk Bawk title to use on your characters and also a variety of unique chicken-themed items. There’s a scythe that turns your foes into eggs, a shield that makes your enemies flee like chickens, a bow that gives you a chance to cluck when firing, and a few more surprises to discover.
Overwatch Underwatch gets googly
Overwatch has a wacky new game mode called Underwatch, available to play until April 13, 2026. There’s a whole bunch of completely unhinged and unbalanced changes to your favorite heroes, but most importantly, everyone has big googly eyes on them. In these matches, you can expect to see giant hamster balls, tiny Lifeweavers, but no Winstons. He’s been given a well-deserved vacation. Although I’ve heard that if you start an Underwatch match on the Horizon Lunar Colony map, you’ll see only Winston. Every hero gets something fun and silly tweaked in their kit, so make sure you read carefully to know what to expect.
Logitech has made the purrfect peripheral
Anyone with a cat knows the challenge of getting anything done on a computer around them. Thankfully Logitech has come up with a great way to keep them nearby, but out of your way. Victory is assured! If you engage with their posts before April 5, 2026 you’ll even have a chance to win your very own Laystation.
Warhammer 40,000 gets musical
Who knew that songs about purging Xenos could be so catchy? What I love most about this musical announcement is that it looks like they had a proper budget for filming this. There are multiple people in amazing costumes, and a whole backing choir with choreography. That kind of setup takes rehearsals! This wouldn’t look out of place as an off-off-Broadway production, and I’m sure that I’d buy some first row tickets to see it.
These are just a handful of the great jokes that popped up yesterday. What else did you see that made you laugh?
