The Queue: Majestic
POV: You’re in the middle of a Nightmare Prey, and happen to run across a little capybara with anxiety. The capybara only trusts you to get him somewhere safe, but he doesn’t want to ride on a mount because that’s too scary so he’d run away if you mount up. So you truck across the entirety of Zul’Aman pursued by blood puddles and weird ghosts and a few light ambushes.
This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us the questions and we give you the answers just as long as you don’t scare our little friend.
Q4tQ Do you care about Noble Garden this year?
I do really want the new spring outfit, so I’ll be doing that. I also need to recheck which things from previous years I haven’t collected yet. I’m 90% sure I have the black bunny ears, but everything else is a toss-up. I actually just got the white tux pants yesterday which popped an achievement, but that… doesn’t seem right? There are a lot of things in game that seem to happen like that for me. I know I’ve done them, because I’ve been playing forever, so I just assume I’ve done them by now, and yet.
I also wanted to collect more ducky outfits, but also, as player who only has time/energy/desire to play one character, the setback of stripping all the previous costumes in order to make them account-wide feels exceptionally bad. Like, good on y’all who have alts but I’m back to 6+ years to collect them all. I think you can get them from the basket from the Daetan quest, but it still feels bad.
Have the giant bunnies in my Bountiful 11s (Collegiate Calamity) shown up before or are they something new for Noblegarden?
That is a part of that particular story for Collegiate Calamity. There are a number of “student projects” with various effects discarded around the area. One of them is a paper that will give you a shield, another lets you launch a 1 million fireball at a mob (which I use for the Nullaeus minions). Then there’s a potion bottle that makes thing appear less threatening — this is what turns mobs into cute lil bunnies. Because you’re less scared it also lets you do additional damage to them for a couple minutes, so it’s a nice buff in addition to being a fun visual effect. I forget off the top of my head whether it’s 20% or 25% increased damage, but it’s in that neighborhood.
Q4tQ: Since Timewalking ends tonight, what is your favorite Cata dungeon?
None. <3
Q4tQ Do you think they’ll add any Allied Races in The Last Titan? If so, which one(s)?
Controversial opinion: I kinda wish they’d stop adding Allied Races and instead make them Barber Shop options for existing races you get to unlock. But Anna, that means that you could be like, a regular dwarf but with flaming hair like a Dark Iron! Or you could be a Void Elf but with green glowing eyes like an OG Blood Elf! Or even a Night Elf with these new Harronir hairstyles and tusks.
I know. That’s the point. You should be able to do this, and you should be able to do this without having to jump through the hoops of a race change. Just streamline the whole thing. Headcanon your character to be whatever you want.
Q4TQ: Is it just me or do Midnight zones just have way less gathering nodes than previous expansions?
On the one hand, it’s really hard to prove something by observation, especially when comparing something current to something in the past. It seems like there are more fishing nodes this expansion, for example, but it’s hard to tell whether that’s actually true, or if I’m just spending a lot of time in areas where there are more bodies of water (I don’t spend much time in Voidstorm).
I will say I’m going to die mad that they added this gorgeous primal zone in Harandar and very few of the creatures there are flagged as Beasts. I don’t spend a ton of time in Harandar because it feels very bad to be hanging out there when I could be in any other zone and find a ton of Beasts to skin. It also feels very bad as a Hunter to be unable to tame these cool floral Devilsaurs because they’re flagged as Elementals. Just a general downer all around.
