Blizzard Watch Weekly: Another week in the gaming mines
Last week may have been the calm before (and after) the storm, without much in the way of news: but this week, there’s activity everywhere. (So much for my overflowing to-do list.) We’ve got a patch coming for Midnight, a new Overwatch season (and hero), and the Warlock finally arriving in Diablo Immortal (and, yes, Diablo Immortal somehow remains a pretty great game), which will certainly be enough to keep us all occupied for a little while.
And now, it’s Monday so it’s time to catch up on everything that’s been happening in Blizzard games, plus what’s coming up soon.
What happened last week?
- A new round of Turbulent Timeways part of WoW patch 12.0.7, which launches this Tuesday. However, the event itself won’t go live until the end of the month, so we’ve put together a summer Timewalking schedule for you. The event adds Dragonflight Timewalking to the game and a brand new mount (see above).
- Overwatch announced its latest hero with an action-packed anime-style trailer. Shion is a Hashimoto Clan elder, and will be available for play when Season 3 on Tuesday.
- This week’s Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is An Evil Exchange, in which you get to play Kel’Thuzad or Rafaam to battle for which of you is the bigger villain. All you have to do is jump in and you’ll be assigned a random hero with a pre-constructed deck — and we have tips on how to play both of this week’s villains.

After several weeks of absolute mountains of gaming news, it’s gotten quiet again. Look for more big reveals coming at Gamescom in August.
