Matt Mercer to DM Questwatch, an Overwatch-themed TTRPG session, live at BlizzCon on September 13

Besides being the voice of Cassidy in Overwatch, you might know Matt Mercer from his other non-voice-acting job, DMing (and now playing) on a little show called Critical Role. Now, it appears those two worlds are set to collide live at BlizzCon 2026 in the form of what Blizzard has called the first-ever Questwatch Live: an Overwatch-themed live tabletop RPG actual play. Talk about a stage show we didn’t see coming! Questwatch, of course, was a temporary game mode in Season 5 of Overwatch 2; it followed an RPG campaign with Tracer’s girlfriend Emily as the game master, and Emily, Orisa, and others playing in a fantasy tabletop game to save the kingdom from the reign of terror of the Demon King Reinhardt.

Unfortunately, details are a litte llught on the ground at the moment, other than that Matt will be “guiding four Heroes on an adventure through Overland.” We don’t even know exactly who the cast will be for Questwatch Live other than fellow Overwatch voice actors, but we can take a guess based on the voice actor guest appearance list: Kerem Erdinc (Emre), LilyPichu (D.mon), and Sally Amaki (Kiriko) will all be in attendance alongside Mercer, so they’re very likely three of the players for the game. That does, however, leave a fourth spot open at the table. There are a few likely candidates, however: Khaya Fraites (Sierra) is also in attendance at BlizzCon 2026, and as an Overwatch voice actor she’s probably most likely, though she’s being touted presently by Blizzard for her role as Orweyna in World of Warcraft. We also can’t quite count out Chris Metzen showing up to beep and boop as Bastion, though it might not be conducive to good communication at the table. I’m personally holding out to see if they invite Overwatch World Cup special guest T-Pain.

We also don’t know for certain what system they’ll be playing, but we can take an educated guess at that as well; the image of Cassidy in his bardic duds, shown above and in the announcement from the OW team, both show him brandishing a pair of twelve-sided dice, making it very likely that the group will be playing Mercer’s own Daggerheart.

If this all sounds interesting, you’ll want to tune in to BlizzCon’s main stage on Sunday, September 13th at 3 PM Eastern/12 PM Pacific.
