World of Warcraft: Forever, the long speculated Classic Plus, has been unveiled and will launch worldwide on November 4, 2026
At BlizzCon‘s main stage, Blizzard unveiled and announced World of Warcraft: Forever, the newest evolution of World of Warcraft Classic. WoW: Forever, referred to memetically for the longest time as Classic Plus, will launch worldwide on November 4, 2026 at 3 pm pacific time. Like WoW Classic, players will automatically have access to WoW: Forever as part of their current World of Warcraft subscription plan, so no additional purchases are necessary.
World of Warcraft: Forever does use WoW Classic as a base and you can expect to find the regular level 1-60 Classic content we’ve all become accustomed but it isn’t just another fresh spin up of Classic realms. WoW: Forever is a new game mode in itself with a planned long-term life cycle with plenty of new content.

What’s new about World of Warcraft: Forever?
- The Skyborne elves, an offshoot group of High Elf exiles, that can align with the Alliance or the Horde
- New zones including Mount Hyjal, the Riverglades, Shen’dralas, and the Zephras Isle, the Skyborne starting zone
- Expanded existing zones with new quests, stories, and gear, especially from unused or previously cut vanilla WoW/WoW Classic content
- More race and class combinations, including Forsaken Paladins and Dwarf Shamans
- 9 new dungeons
- 2 new max-level raids
- Revamped Classic systems
- Transmog
- New gameplay systems including Legacy, which provides account-based rewards for your progress and accomplishment across your characters and Campfire, which sounds like a way to connect people socially but is something we’ll learn more about in the future
- Updated character and environmental textures/effects
- WoW Forever will have its own Hardcore realms
WoW: Forever will take players to the level 60 cap but that doesn’t mean the end. Blizzard plans to release periodic phase updates once WoW Forever launches, building on this new version of Azeroth and giving players something to play for, in Blizzard’s own words, “years to come.” For players interested in getting a head start in WoW: Forever, the beta will start on September 17 and opt-ins are currently live! If you want to guarantee beta access, you can also pre-purchase one of the Forever packs that will also give you some mounts, toys, and decor for retail WoW.
There’s still so much to learn about this new adventure and we’ll keep you up to date with all of the latest information about World of Warcraft: Forever.
