What we know about the World of Warcraft: Forever’s new zones, quests, dungeons, and raids

When World of Warcraft: Forever releases on November 4, players will get to experience over 1000 new quests, three new zones, and nine dungeons throughout Azeroth in addition to the original level 1-60 content from Classic, with even some those pre-existing areas expanding with more explorable places and added quests, items, and other content. Thanks to the WoW: Forever 2026-2027 roadmap, we already have an idea of how ambitious this game can be based on how much is coming to the game through summer 2027. Blizzard teased more to come after that.

We don’t have to get too ahead of ourselves because there’s already so much available that will be available in WoW: Forever at launch (and that’s just the stuff we know about).

Three new zones

Zephras Isle

Zephras Isle is the level 1-12 starting area for the new Skyborne elf race, visually inspired by the Skywall zone. Skyborne elves can join either Alliance or Horde but all will start their journey in this floating zone.

Riverglades

The Riverglades is a new zone in the Eastern Kingdoms and features over 150 new quests and intended to be another mid-game levelling area for level 30-45 players.

Mount Hyjal

Mount Hyjal may not be a new novel area since it was playable in Cataclysm but because the WoW: Forever timeline has the same starting point as the 2004 game, the WoW Forever version of Mount Hyjal exists in a point in time after Archimonde’s defeat and will likely be the primary story players will experience in this zone.

Another playable area is slated to arrive with the spring 2027 update but at this time we don’t know if it’s a brand new zone or the expansion of an existing zone.

Nine new dungeons

Nine new dungeons were announced for WoW Forever and it’s implied all of them will be available right at launch. Two dungeons are expected to be added in each of the spring and summer 2027 updates. There is a chance that some of these dungeons could be those additions, or we could be getting four more dungeons on top these. Some of these dungeons, like Dalaran, also double as playable areas with their own new quests, adding an extra reason to re-explore familiar Classic locations.

  • Hall of Thanes, Ironforge
    • Level 13-18
    • Hall of Thanes is supposed to be for the Alliance players but crafty Horde players can sneak their way in.
  • Ruins of Lordaeron, Tirisfal Glades
    • Level 15-20
    • Like Hall of Thanes, Horde players will have an easier time getting here but Alliance groups need to display a higher level of cunning if they want to see what’s going on in Lordaeron.
  • Excavation Site, Wetlands
    • Level 24-29
  • City of Dalaran, Alterac Valley
    • Level 28-33
  • Drowned City, Stranglethorn Vale
    • Level 35-40
  • Krol’dok Stronghold
    • Level 40-55
  • Alcaz Island Prison
    • Level 48-53
  • Blackmaw Hold, Azshara
    • Level 55-60
  • Shaper’s Terrace, Un’goro Crater
    • Level 58-60

New raids and a revamped iconic raid

Based on the WoW: Forever roadmap, it looks like there will be a total of 5 new raids released in the game through mid-2027. The first two new raids for players to experience — the 10-player Barrow Deeps raid and 20-player Hyjal Summit raid — will go live in the game on December 9, 2026.

In spring 2027, WoW: Forever will see two more new raids added, a 10-player raid and a 20-player raid. Then, in summer 2027, one of the iconic” raids will make a return to WoW: Forever alongside the addition of another new raid.

One new battleground

Darkspear Island is a new PVP battleground that hosts 15v15 matches. PVP refreshes are scheduled with each of the seasonal updates in 2027 and there’s always the chance of more maps being added in the future.
