Overwatch’s McCree digital comic releasing tomorrow

If you like Overwatch, or specifically its Clint Eastwood-esque character McCree, the folks at Nerdist have an exclusive preview of a new digital comic starring the character.

Written by Blizzard writer Robert Brooks with art by Bengal, Overwatch: McCree: Train Hopper will be going live on the official site on April 21. But just in case you can’t wait 24 hours, Nerdist has an exclusive sneak preview of the cover, as well as a page to look at right now. It’ll be interesting to see what we learn about Overwatch as a setting from tie in media like this digital comic, the upcoming graphic novel and so on. With Overwatch being Blizzard’s first new IP in two decades, it’s interesting to watch the modern Blizzard approach to media tie ins interact with the new game.

I still want a weekly Overwatch series. It would fit the game’s ‘The Avengers meets G.I. Joe‘ feel. The McCree comic is another piece in the puzzle for me and one I’m interested in. We’ll get to see for ourselves tomorrow — April 21 — on the official site. As for Overwatch itself, the game hits the shelves for PC, PS4 and Xbox One May 24.
