Player creates working gnomish mailbox

This has to be one of the coolest craft projects I’ve seen in a long, long time — a full size, working version of a gnomish mailbox. Lead Narrative Designer Dave Kosak took a moment to point out the project via Twitter, and while the mailbox on display is not complete, it’s still a marvel of engineering, including a working lock and key for larger packages as well as a drawer for envelopes and everyday mail. And just in case you were wondering, the letter on the top does in fact spring back and forth, just like the model in game.

According to creator and Imgur poster Puzzlehead84, the mailbox is still due for a final sanding, polishing, clean up and painting. Personally, I can’t wait to see it completed — and the creator has stated that the ultimate goal is to get to BlizzCon and showcase the mailbox there for the duration of the convention.
