Duncan Jones talks ‘Warcraft’ post-production, Gul’dan
If you’re not already excited for the upcoming ‘Warcraft’ movie (seriously, check out that cast, that’s impressive) then maybe Duncan Jones can change your mind. He’s talking post production and the film, and especially the work of Daniel Wu as Gul’dan. It’s a pretty big deal, playing one of the Warcraft universe’s biggest heels. But Jones says Wu is making the role his own: “Daniel has definitely put his own stamp on the character… and that is how it should be. You don’t hire great actors to crush their individuality by forcing them into a mould you have in mind! You find a way to blend the character and the man, and get a performance that is rooted in something that is honest to them.”
In addition to discussing the effects (ILM, of course) Jones talked about doing more Warcraft movies down the road, provided this film does well. Since I liked The Man with the Iron Fists I’m definitely interested to see Wu’s Gul’dan. Is it too much to hope he faces off against Travis Fimmel’s Lothar? Because I do. I do hope this.
