PvP damage and death knight hotfixes reverted UPDATED

Some hotfixes last longer than others – the recent hotfix to PvP damage that reduced it across the board by 10% has already been reverted. Why? Well, apparently players really, really hated the way it changed PvP.

However, we received overwhelming feedback from players saying that this change did not result in a positive effect on gameplay, and that they preferred the faster-paced matches they were experiencing prior to the hotfix. After some discussion, we’ve decided to reverse the change and remove the 10% damage reduction in PvP.

We will continue to look for opportunities to improve PvP combat in World of Warcraft. Thanks for your continued feedback!

I remember saying at the time that I wasn’t sure why this was the approach they were taking – an across the board 10% nerf like that seemed unusual to me, and it still does. If the goal was to slow down PvP combat, clearly that wasn’t a move most players were on board with. It will be interesting to see what they do next, if anything.

EIit: it’s not just the PvP hotfixes getting reverted, either. In the same chain of tweets, CM Lore confirmed that the recent changes to Reaping/Blood Rites are also being reverted.
