Breakfast Topic: Getting around to content
I didn’t really work on pet battles all that much in Mists of Pandaria. I got enough pets leveled to qualify for the Celestial Tournament, but then I didn’t actually bother doing the tournament itself. Needless to say when I leveled through Warlords of Draenor for the first time, I didn’t really bother with capturing pets in the wild, either — honestly, I pretty much ignored that aspect of the game, far more content to work on the quest content that I really love.
Somewhere in the last few weeks, that changed. I’m not really sure what triggered the change, but I’ve been happily battling trainers, collecting Pet Charms, purchasing stones and quietly leveling the whole stinking lot of pets that I’ve gathered over the years. I even tried going back to the Celestial Tournament last week to see if I could beat it — I came close, but I was missing a few key pets that would have sealed the deal, so I’m leveling those now.
Why? Because suddenly it’s kind of fun. I didn’t think it was this fun, originally, but I’m kind of having a ball with my team of assorted critters. I do find myself wondering if maybe I should look at all that other stuff I haven’t quite accomplished, yet — after all, my poor Fishing Shack is sitting there dreadfully underdeveloped. Have you guys found yourselves picking up content that you wouldn’t ordinarily do? Is there something in game you initially avoided, but now find incredibly fun? Is there anything you’ve been meaning to get around to?
