New Heroes of the Storm skins spotted in launch video
Blizzard is gearing up for the official launch of Heroes of the Storm on June 2 and the hype continues with the roll out of a new video featuring cinematics and gameplay as well as new skins and mounts we haven’t seen before. Tucked away near the end is a montage of custom skins we spotted the never-before-seen Marshal Raynor, Prisoner Tychus and Amazon Nova images. We also get a glimpse of Valla in her Master Skin on top of what looks like some kind of deathcharger mount and Marshall Raynor looks like he gets his very own themed mount.
The Raynor and Tychus skins have some back story associated with the characters. Raynor was a Confederate Marshal at one point in his long and storied history in the StarCraft universe before he became a mercenary. His fellow marine Tychus was a convict in the New Folsom Prison before being released on the condition he kill Kerrigan, not knowing she was romantically involved with his old buddy Raynor. That conflict between the two friends played out over the StarCraft II single-player missions.
Nova’s Amazon skin looks great and may be the closest thing players get to a Diablo 2 character in Heroes. Though you could make the argument Tyrael is from Diablo 2 as his Diablo 3 presence is in his human form. The deathcharger’s origins remain a mystery. It could be in reference to Arthas’ mount, Invincible, which is a raid drop from Wrath. It could just be a cool looking mount that will be available only to Valla.
No release dates have been announced for these skins and the mount.
