The Queue: Bacon the friendly lizard

Welcome back to The Queue, the Q&A column for all things Blizzard related. If you have a question for the Queue, leave a comment and you may see it answered!

Who’s the sweetest giant whomping spiked vaguely-bacon-colored lizard thing on Azeroth? That’s a rhetorical question, I tamed him yesterday and I’m keeping him forever, thank you. Let’s answer some Queue questions!

ANDREWROSS8705 ASKED:

Why does the riding harness from leather working require artisan riding when it’s a ground mount and doesn’t fly? I’m trying to wrap my head around the logic.

It has nothing to do with whether or not it’s a flying mount, and everything to do with where the mount is created and learned. Since the mount was created in a new expansion, the requirement asks you to have all applicable, non-expansion bound skill levels first. Note that it doesn’t require Cold Weather Flying from Wrath, a Flight Master’s License from Cataclysm, or Wisdom of the Four Winds from Mists, because it doesn’t have anything to do with either of those expansions. It just requires you to have the highest riding level available.

A SUPERB VILLAIN ASKED:

Question for the Illustrious Queue:

Will you miss Warlords of Draenor once it becomes outdated content?

Honestly? I don’t think so. I think I will enjoy leveling characters through Warlords content on their way to whatever level we’re set for next, because the leveling experience in Warlords was pretty fun. But I don’t really feel the same kind of wistful pang of “Man, I’m really going to miss this place” that I felt in Pandaria, not in the least. I don’t feel attached to the characters or the NPCs.

To give an example — in Mists of Pandaria I was very upset with the idea of our leaving Dog behind at our farms in Halfhill. Did Dog do anything remotely interesting? Not really. But the story behind getting him, the quests we did to help the poor little guy out were so well done that I really felt attached to him, and didn’t want to see him go. He followed us to our garrisons, which I was really happy about, and I make sure to give him a /pet every time I walk by my Herb Garden.

I don’t feel like that, I don’t have that feeling with a single one of Draenor’s cast of characters. Not a single one. The names might be familiar, but none of them have done enough to form that sense of attachment that one silly little dog out in the fields of Halfhill managed to do in a handful of quests during a rep grind.

CAPTAINCAKEWALK ASKED:

Q4tQ: I know it’s early days (VERY actually) but I have to ask as one: Curiosity and two: I have mixed feelings which are changing (and softening) towards the subject by the day.

What do you think of Tanaan Jungle so far? Are you enjoying it? Or are you, like me, struggling to get your bearings but once you do you are finding it rather fun?

The shipyard is a little confusing for me right now, but that’s mostly because I haven’t exactly had a lot of time to buckle down and dive into Tanaan full force just yet. I imagine I’ll get a lot of that done this weekend. Tanaan itself is great so far, in that nebulous I definitely haven’t seen everything there is to see yet kind of way. It’s a huge zone, and I’ve still got plenty of exploring to do.

AUBREYE ASKED:

QftQ:  Where did the Temple of Telhamat go?  Judging by how Throne of Kil’jaeden moved (very little) and the Temple(Ruins) of Sha’naar, it should be somewhere between the Ruins of Kra’nak and Zeth’gol, which would be a very inhospitable place for the secretive Draenei.  I don’t think the temple was built after it became Hellfire Peninsula because it was referred to as a “holy site” that survived.  Only loresplanation I can come up with is that this is one of the subtle differences between timelines.

Likely it’s just as you said — this is just one of those things that didn’t carry through from one version of Draenor to the next, like Garrosh’s existence.

KANETSIDOHI ASKED:

I was looking at the bosses on HFC, and wondered once again if Gul’Dan or the Legion is planning to attack our Azeroth again. If so, how would they do it as the first thing we did was to destroy the dark portal on this side?

There is another portal? There is other way using one of the bosses?

Do these bad guys care about our Azeroth? I mean Gul’Dan knew about Garosh but he knew he’s from other timeline? I f so, how?

If it’s not an spoiler, does anyone has an idea?

It’s not a spoiler to say that the Burning Legion is most definitely planning to attack our Azeroth again. They’ve never really stopped attacking it, to be fair. For some reason, Azeroth is something the Legion really, really wants — either to claim, or to destroy, and nothing we’ve done is really going to stop the Legion from wanting to do either. It could be argued that we’ve only fostered the Legion’s interest, because we just keep getting stronger.

The Twisting Nether overlaps everything in existence. Just because we’ve destroyed one portal doesn’t mean another won’t appear. The Legion has plenty of methods for getting things done, and they’re not about to just leave Azeroth be. As far as Gul’dan goes — we don’t know how he got that information, but it’s likely that someone in the Legion told him what was going on at some point.

@R8DIANTECLIPSE ASKED VIA TWITTER:

if you complete the achievement to get Draenor flight on one character, is it account wide for all your characters?

Yep! You only have to do the Draenor Pathfinder achievement once, and it’s automatically unlocked for all your alts.
