The Queue: Boldly bald

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Motionless. Bald. I know I talked about this in yesterday’s Queue but I still can’t get over these guys. Right now they have taken the title for Weirdest Thing in the Alpha. We’ll have to wait and see if anything else pops up to take the crown. Until then, let’s get to your questions!

JALAMENOS ASKED:

Now that the alpha is going and there have been some group content out, do we have an absolute confirmation on the Demon Hunter class color? I’ve seen screenshots depicting both fel green and dark purple but I’m not sure if any of them are legit.

Purple is now the color of choice for Demon Hunters. As with everything in the alpha though, nothing is final until release, so we might see it change again. I’m happy enough with the change, though — we already had two different shades of green, adding a third to the mix is just a little confusing!

@SICCOTHERMAPLUGG ASKED VIA TWITTER:

Has anyone gotten one of those Mech Pets for Hunters yet?

Yes, but only on level 1 Gnomes. Keep in mind everything is premades on the client right now, so people have level 100 characters with…nothing, essentially. I tried rolling a Gnome Hunter at level 100, but they don’t appear to start with the mechanical rabbits right now, you get a default wolf with your premade. So it’s just brand new level 1 Gnomes that have the mechs right now on the alpha.

ALPHA5099 ASKED:

My least played class ever is Rogue; the one on my main server is level 19, and he’s my highest level Rogue ever by 17 or 18 levels. As someone who has so little experience with the class, I wanted to ask those with a better feel for it whether it makes any sense to touch Combat at all for now. Looking at my Rogue, he just looks like he’d be the kind of dirty SOB who’d be an Outlaw rogue. If I play as Combat now, and Legion rolls around and now I’m an Outlaw rogue, would it be essentially starting over with an entirely new spec, or are the changes to Outlaw more about theme and aesthetic (it’s a bit hard to tell for me as an outsider to the class), and I could get a sense of how it plays by playing Combat now?

It’s…a little of column A, little of column B. For Rogues who have been playing Combat all along, it probably isn’t going to seem too different. I haven’t played Combat in such a long time that pretty much everything there is new to me, but I’ve been told that the feel is the same. If you’re interested, you might as well pick up Combat now and start playing with it to get the feel of the spec — it’ll probably make the adjustment to Outlaw a little easier.

@JUSTINTYME5 ASKED VIA TWITTER:

Will my Runed Band of the Kirin Tor still teleport me to Dalaran in Legion?

I don’t actually have an answer to this question! Since everything on the alpha right now is premades, I don’t have the Runed Band on any of my characters to test. I’d presume that it’ll take you to Wrath-era Dalaran in Northrend, if anything, but until we can copy characters, I can’t really give you a definitive answer. Sorry!

RAHKHARNE ASKED:

QftQ: What is your favourite Inn and/or gathering place in WoW and why?

I’ll have to go with the Filthy Animal in Dalaran.  I know it’s not the most unique choice and it is fairly typical Horde décor.  It has to do with the memories of Wrath.  My guild and I would gather there an hour or so ahead of Wintergrasp and those of us who were so inclined would partake in some pre-battle (and usually post-battle) beverages.  So many good memories and random drunken comedy in mumble while we sat around absorbing the atmosphere in-game.

I’m going through all of the inns in my head, and the first two that pop up in my mind are the Legerdemain Lounge in Dalaran, for much the same reason as you enjoy the Filthy Animal, and the World’s End Tavern in Shattrath City. World’s End isn’t an inn, but it was one of the more populated gathering spots during Burning Crusade.

@GLOMMERWORT ASKED VIA TWITTER:

Is it ever established in-game how we get home from draenor? We blew up dark portal at beg. of WoD.

I’m assuming through all those mage portals over in Ashran! It might have taken a while for mages to figure out how to establish and hold portals between Azeroth and Draenor, but they managed it.
