Breakfast Topic: With a little help from my friends

Despite the fact that Blizzard’s games are designed to be multiplayer, sometimes I log on and just don’t can’t be bothered to deal with other people. When this happens, I might work on grinding out reputations, soloing classic dungeons, leveling alts, or LFRing (where you can usually safely ignore the rest of your group) in WoW; play in a private game of Diablo 3; or play AI matches in Heroes of the Storm.

But while you can do a lot in-game on your own, a little help never hurts.

I rarely wind up asking for help from others simply because I know I can get most things done by myself with enough time. However, I have the kind of in-game circle of friends who will sometimes offer help regardless. And even if I hadn’t thought to ask for it,  help is, well, helpful. This week a guildmate ran me through a couple of dungeons in WoW to get an alt to 60 to run through Molten Core and a friend hopped on to power me through ten levels in Diablo 3 to help me finish out the season.

It’s not much time or effort for a level 100 to run through a level 60 dungeon in WoW or for a level 1,000 (or whatever) in Diablo to zoom through some level 40 bounties. But that sort of thing will usually mean a lot to the person you help — or at least it does to me.

Maybe it’s just the spirit of the season, but friends are a year-round kind of thing — and it’s far from the only time I’ve run into this sort of in-game kindness.

So today, tell me readers: how often do you perform in-game acts of kindness? Have you run into any lately? Let’s get into the spirit of the season right here and share some in-game awesomeness we’ve seen.
