Breakfast Topic: Just where are the…?

As sprawling a world as the virtual Azeroth is, it isn’t endless. There are huge swaths of Warcraft story and lore that simply don’t exist in World of Warcraft. These omissions may not be noticeable at first glance, but the more you play — and those hitting their 11-year game-versary with WoW have certainly reached that point — the more you’ll notice the things that have never made the leap to WoW.

For my part, I always notice the missing Gnomes in the narrative. It’s probably because I often play them, and when my player character is a Gnome I just notice when none are showing up in the story. (Come on, Blizzard, when’s it going to be our time?) How can an entire race just be missing from the game’s main storyline?

But everyone has things about the Warcraft universe that matter to them — and that are MIA from the game at large. Earlier this week Kim wrote a post about the lack of Monks and Monk lore beyond Pandaria, something I genuinely hadn’t considered before reading her article. Once I read the column, I couldn’t help but see how few Monks there were anywhere else in the world — proving that wondering about these things is clearly contagious.

But that’s just what we think — now let’s move on to what you think? Just what’s missing from the World of Warcraft?
