The Queue: What are you looking at

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

The new harpy models in Legion are absolutely gorgeous, but what’s really striking is their facial animation. It’s not just the expression, it’s the birdlike way they dart their head this way and that while they’re looking around. I don’t know if the model revamps in Warlords were a test run or what, but they’ve really just amped up the quality with every creature out there since.

MISTAH JAY! ASKED:

Q4tQ: Considering the “Dynamic Levelling” being put into Legion, do you think Blizzard will ultimately end up making Broken Isles a 10-110 levelling zone, or perhaps your Artifact quest getting new players to level 100 completely, to curtail the levelling entirely?

That’s doubtful. There’s a boost included with the purchase just like with Warlords, but I don’t think they’d ever just phase out the leveling process entirely. I did ask Dave Kosak about the possibility of that dynamic scaling being applied to the entire leveling experience during my interview with him at BlizzCon last year, though — he said they thought that would be cool, but it’s not something they’re planning right now.

HEFFENREFFER ASKED:

So Im leveling a monk and when  I got past 60 I just kept leveling. so now im like 80 something. my question. Does Heirloom gear still grant the xp buff even if you are past the max level of the item?

Nope — if you upgrade your heirlooms, you can. But if you haven’t upgraded your heirlooms at all, when they stop scaling to your level, they also stop providing any bonuses. At that point, you should probably just swap to grabbing gear as you go, if the stats are better than what you have on the heirlooms.

TKC882 ASKED:

Q4tQ:  can you walk the Deeprun Tram line?

You absolutely can! It takes a lot longer than riding the tram car, but there’s a pretty cool underground aquarium down there. Fun story — once upon a time, lag spikes could send players right through the aquarium glass if they jumped at the right spot. Not that I ever did such a thing to get a closer look at Nessie and maybe pinpoint where exactly on the physical outside map the Tram happened to be. No sir. And I definitely didn’t try to swim to the surface only to find the whole aquarium was kind of a self-contained box with invisible walls. Nope.

JENJABENJA ASKED:

Why/when do people prefer Master Looter in raids (or at least Pick-up Groups)?

Usually the only time people prefer using Master Looter in PUG raids is when they have a certain item they want reserved for themselves. That way they know that if the item drops, they’ll get the item. Given the introduction of personal loot, I can’t really see why anyone would prefer the headache of using Master Looter in a PUG situation — just turn on the personal loot and let fate decide who gets what. It’s way less of a hassle, and it’s completely random, there’s no real human element involved so you don’t run the risk of accusations of favoritism or unfairness. Officers’ Quarters actually addressed different loot systems for raiding in this week’s column, I’d recommend giving it a read.

MITHRENNON ASKED:

Random question, I should know this out of hand, but my lull in raiding, I have forgotten…Do current raids have separate lockouts for different difficulties? Specifically, I need to kill both Heroic and Mythic Blast Furnace in BRF on the same character in the same week… that’s doable, right?

You aren’t locked out of raiding one difficulty if you’ve already raided another difficulty, no. So you shouldn’t have any issue with doing both Heroic and Mythic Blast Furnace in the same week. If you wanted to do Blast Furnace twice on the same difficulty you could do so on any difficulty with the exception of Mythic — but you can only loot the boss once per week per difficulty. Since that doesn’t seem to be what you’re after, you should be fine.

KEVINKAZ ASKED:

Q4t(Diablo)Q:  Does the “loot table” in D3 differ between Adventure and Campaign mode?  I’m having trouble finding confirmation either way.

I’m not really the best versed person we’ve got on staff when it comes to Diablo 3’s loot tables, so I asked our resident expert Megan O’Neill, and she had the following to say:

Not really, no, aside from Seasonal-only items. Most stuff is level-restricted, like max level sets, or content restricted, like the Keywardens that reward infernal machines. Higher Torment levels have higher drop chances for mats, gold, legendaries, and so on. So there’s not really a loot table difference, but you don’t usually grind Campaign mode anyway, unless you’re working on specific achievements. Hope that answer helps.
