Breakfast Topic: What you already can’t stand about Legion
I know that Legion is a long way from being finished. I know that anything (and possibly everything) might change between now and the time this post gets published. But there are some things about Legion I’m already pretty sure I’m not going to like.
No, I’m not talking about changes to Mistweavers. I’m not talking about the Rogue class hall. I’m not talking about the need to collect approximately a million pet charms.
I’m talking about Dalaran.
While we often look back on Wrath of the Lich King fondly — it’s certainly one of my favorite expansions — time has definitely helped us forget what we didn’t like about the expansion. And certainly one of my top Wrath complaints was Dalaran. The city, floating over Crystalsong Forest in Northrend, was beautiful. Its spires, shops, and even NPCs had more detail and life than most other cities offered.
But with so many players in a relatively small space, it was also often a lagfest. And lag is just no one’s idea of fun.
In Legion, it feels like Blizzard has taken a lot of what was great about World of Warcraft in Wrath… but in so doing, also managed to copy Wrath‘s laggy Dalaran — one retro feature we could have probably done without. I can only hope there are improvements that make Dalaran a little easier to explore when the Legion launch dumps tens of thousands of new players into the city.
So, readers, now that you’re up to speed on my Dalaran hate, just what about Legion is already driving you nuts — and do you think it will change before launch?
