Breakfast Topic: Staving off boredom during the long wait
It’s that time of the expansion. You know, the part where you look around to take stock of everything around your vast, expansive garrison space and ask: “What is there left for me to do? Is there nothing to captivate my interest till next expansion?” It’s hard to believe that it’s been barely 15 months since Warlords of Draenor was hot off the grill, and even harder to acknowledge that it’s been nine entire months since Patch 6.2 and Hellfire Citadel were released to the playerbase.
Even for those of you still progressing through HFC at whatever difficulty you enjoy, there is still likely to be a larger looming question of “Alright, but what else is there for me?”
While there’s certainly some legitimate criticism to be made about pacing issues and the inevitability of having this be another year long tier (didn’t we have this conversation during 5.4, Blizzard?), I’ve personally been determined to challenge myself and find things to do that will preoccupy my time outside of routine farm raids — and I invite the rest of you to join me in this quest. Are there arduous reputation grinds you’re thinking of undertaking? Grindy achievements that you’re finally setting the time aside for? Rare mounts, pets or toys that you’ve decided now present a worthy goal to farm towards?
Perhaps you’re on the more adventurous side, and have decided to experience an activity in the game that you’ve never undertaken before like challenge modes or PVP? Maybe even some wilder achievements such as soloing current expansion bosses?
Whatever the case might be, I refuse to believe that a playerbase as diverse and, as I’m constantly reminded, ingenuitive as ours can’t come up with ways to keep the long wait till Legion interesting. I look forward to reading about how all of you stave off boredom at this stage of the expansion.
