Breakfast Topic: Were you gaming 20 years ago?

Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal released back in December of 1995. For reasons unknown, the Warcraft community team celebrated this milestone in a tweet this past Thursday. Regardless of the timing, though, the tweet inspired a conversation between Anna Bell and I about what we were doing twenty years ago. For Anna and I, ’95 and ’96 land firmly in the PlayStation era. We were console kids, occupying our time with Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, and Twisted Metal.

Personally, it wasn’t until around 1998 when I got my first PC — at which point I entered the world of Blizzard games with StarCraft. Of course, my trusty PlayStation never fell out of my favor — 1998 was also a year of Metal Gear Solid.
