Breakfast Topic: Excitement or dread
I’m of two minds about Legion coming this month.
On the one hand, it’s about time, right? We’ll finally get new content and go exploring on the Broken Isles, face down the Legion and save Azeroth.
On the other hand, we’re all going in there with redesigned classes (some radically so) and I find myself wondering about it. How are dungeons and raids going to work out? How is world content going to feel?
I just spent a week getting my level 100 Enhancement Shaman some gear and it was brutal. He’s ridiculously squishy. Half the Enh Shammies I’ve talked to are like “I’ve had no problems” while the other half were “Oh, yeah, I die constantly” and I don’t know how that’s going to work once we’re leveling. I even tried going Elemental and it was a bit better, but it still felt like I took a lot more damage than I could safely deal with out in the world. Comparing it to my DK or Warrior, I suddenly felt like Fury’s lack of self healing (which is bad, mind you) wasn’t as bad, and the Enh Shaman has a heal.
In fact, I ultimately just started using that heal as part of my rotation, and that was how I got through Tanaan on him. Is he going to make it through the Broken Isles by casting Healing Surge every six seconds?
But then there’s the idea of so many Artifact stories to pursue, so much lore, it kind of makes me giddy just thinking about it. Each class will have an Artifact for each spec — it actually makes me jealous of Druids with their four specs for the first time, and it makes me feel a little bad for Demon Hunters since they’ll only get two Artifact stories. It also makes me feel bad that some legendary weapons like the Warglaives and Shadowmourne exist, because you feel like those should have been Artifacts. Well, at least I do. Not giving them back, though.
So, where are you on the coming of Legion? Any disquiet about what’s to come? Or are you full bore excitement moving forward?
