The Queue: Watercolors
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
If you haven’t already been gawping at the sheer gorgeousness of the scenery on the Broken Isles, maybe you should. It’s got an astounding amount of detail, like the delicately painted rocks in Eye of Azshara shown above. I keep running into all these delicate little touches here and there, and it’s just making the entire expansion a visual treat along with being, you know, incredibly fun to play.
QftQ: When do you think we’ll return to the Broken Shores? I went out there on my DH today. Saw a lot of familiar names. Brutalas (sp?) from Sunwell was guarding the entrance. Also if you go into the Tomb itself you get a debuff and if you don’t leave within 4sec you die. But when you res you’re at the Illidari flightpath. Even the imps out there had 8mil hp. >.>
The Tomb of Sargeras is going to be a raid at some point, but I don’t expect we’ll go back there until much later in the expansion. Since it’s the site of that giant Legion portal we want to close, I’m guessing it’ll be one of the last things we do. There are some classes that are sent back to the Broken Shore as part of their Artifact quest chains, but other than that, there’s no reason to go back there right now…and given how powerful everything on the island is, that’s probably for the best.
If you’re fully completed a Mythic dungeon this week, can you still do it again, even if it means no boss drops?
Yep, you can go back and do it again — there won’t be any boss drops for you, but you won’t be locked out from repeating it.
Bit of a noob question because I just unlocked WQ’s like 2 days ago. Are dungeons part of the WQ’s? If so do you just have to clear it, or is more added to the dungeon because of the WQ?
They can be part of them, yes — usually you’ll have to kill a rare mob, and then kill the boss at the end of the dungeon for credit. We discovered a rare in our dungeon run on this week’s leveling stream, actually!
Q4tQ: Is there a runehorn calf battle pet out there? I wouldn’t mind tromping around Stormheim with one of those little guys/gals.
Unfortunately not — but there should be! I was hoping when I first saw the little guys that we’d have another baby yak pet, but it seems as though they weren’t added. I guess we’ll have to stick to Zao if we want one of those, for now.
Lore question: Dragons! What’s up with the no eggs thing? Is it fallout from them giving all their mojo to the Dragoj Soul? Is it just the main five flights that can’t have kids, or do the offshoots suffer too?
The Aspects expended all of their power defeating Deathwing at the end of the Dragon soul raid, and apparently that also meant that the dragonflights would no longer lay new eggs. This was mentioned briefly in Dawn of the Aspects, but it wasn’t really specified as to whether or not that applied to all dragonflights, or just the Aspects (Red/Green/Blue/Bronze). The black dragonflight doesn’t have any more children mostly because uh…well, Wrathion took care of that one fairly well in Cataclysm.
It still feels kind of like an odd choice to me. I mean, I get it — the Aspects and the dragonflights fulfilled their designated purpose and all. But just having them slowly die out doesn’t really feel like the fate they deserve, not after all they’ve done for Azeroth, you know?
Where the heck do those demons in Dalaran come from?
Well, see, there’s this giant green portal and…
No really though, the demons show up because Paladins and Demon Hunters have methods of revealing them. Protection Paladins with Truthguard can uncover them, and Demon Hunters can use Spectral Sight to see them. It’s a neat little class-themed flavor thing — different classes have different things they can do. My Elemental Shaman has run into various shrines around the Broken Isles that give her some Artifact Power for defending/defeating, my Druid runs into Feral Worgen that she can cleanse with the Scythe of Elune — each class seems to have a different thing.
