Do you have an NPC you like because they’re scary?

After doing Suramar for a while and getting Good Suramaritan done, I found myself working on the further storyline quests and I realized something. The more ridiculously aggressive Tyrande Whisperwind becomes, the more I like her.

I mean, I wouldn’t want to hang around with her. She’d possibly kill me for some stupid thing I said or did. But aggressive, domineering Tyrande who flat out tells Thalyssra that she might decide to take out the Nightborne entirely after Elisande is defeated is just perfect. It’s exactly as I remember her from Warcraft 3. I like that there’s a sense that 10,000 years of having the weight of her people’s fate on her shoulders while Malfurion took centuries long naps had made her someone who could casually kill her own people if they don’t jump to obey her fast enough.

I’m also kind of fond of Thalyssra herself, despite the fact that the woman seems not to get how deeply creepy her use of the Withered as shock troops really is. The further into the Nighthold I get, the more convinced I am that Thalyssra and Elisande are basically two sides of the same coin. The only real difference between them is where they fell on the whole Legion question.
