The Queue: Same
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
Don’t feel bad about yawning, Lisbeth. I’m pretty sure if I were stuck behind a counter in Stormwind for as long as you’ve been, I’d feel exactly the same way. Let’s get to your questions, why don’t we?
Q4TQ: Ok so I do a lot of PvP world quests everyday and every time I jump to another realm through WQGF and it puts me in a non-PvP realm, it toggles my PvP to disabled and I have to right-click my portrait to set it back to enabled in order to be able to actually attack anything for the world quest. It’s getting really annoying. Is there a way to tell the game that I want my PvP enabled ALWAYS. I really can’t think of a scenario where I would not want PvP enabled, especially since my character is based on a PvP realm.
I don’t think there’s actually a way to pull this off, at least not with realm hopping to a PVE or RP realm. The only suggestion I can think of is to simply make a macro to flag yourself and put it on a hotkey. It’s not really what you’re looking for, but just hitting a button is fewer steps than right-clicking the portrait and changing the setting there every time.
He is…well, he’s retired, mostly. One of the Artifact weapons you can get as a Shaman is the Doomhammer — it essentially chooses you over Thrall when you find and retrieve it from Deepholm. Thrall says as much, and then leaves to presumably go be with Aggra and his kids. I doubt it’s the last we’ll see of Thrall, but I don’t think we’re going to see him involved in any major storylines for a while.
Thrall’s been through a lot over the years. The elements weren’t particularly happy with him after that fight with Garrosh on Draenor. I suspect part of his absence is retirement, and part of it is simply trying to figure out what happened and get back in tune with the elements again.
Q4tQ: What if we don’t win on Argus?
Then we finally get to see what the closing credits for World of Warcraft look like.
No really, though — this is kind of it. If we don’t win here, I think we can pretty much consider Azeroth finished. This is probably the biggest battle we’ve fought to date, so losing isn’t exactly an option at this point, you know?
Q4tQ: Who do you think is gonna be the next hero on Heroes of the Storm?
Ner’zhul actually seems to be a pretty viable option. If you go back to Warcraft 2, there’s a small scene where he’s seen through the Dark Portal in similar fashion to the teaser image. I have to admit though that I’m kind of hoping for Akama personally.
Edit: Nope, apparently it’s Garrosh Hellscream. Well, we can’t have everything, can we?
Q4TQ (Rogue Edition): How do you feel about the return of the Palace of Lei Shen treasure scenario for rogues? Do you think Blizz should open it back up to all classes? {PB}
As a Rogue, I’m pretty happy to see it back again — it makes for an entertaining diversion when I want to kill some time. Since we didn’t actually get the pickpocketing game that was initially talked about way back in Legion’s development, I’m glad we’ve got a different little bonus perk. We may have a tiny class hall down in the sewers, but Rogues still have a few fun options while we’re chilling down there. I’d rather they keep it Rogue-only, honestly — and open a different, new kind of treasure room scenario for all classes. I’d love to see a new one implemented.
Q4TQ : Are there clouds in WoW as cool as IRL clouds? I play on a laptop with graphics minimized. I would upgrade my hardware for cool atmospheric effects.
The skyboxes in game are very pretty, but they’re also…fairly stationary. Later skyboxes have clouds that actually move, but it’s not enough to be jaw-dropping, and it’s not enough to actually shift and change throughout the sky over the course of the day. It’s less ‘atmospheric effects’ and more ‘pretty scenery that’s nice to look at every now and again.’ You aren’t missing out on too much!
Q4tQ: Assuming that the index of refraction of water is 4/3 and that raindrops are spherical, show that the location of a rainbow is approximately 42◦ above the line from the sun to you. If you see a double rainbow, what is the angle of the second one? Even triple rainbows are possible, although they are difficult to see; where is the third one?
Did you know that a rainbow is actually a full circle? Fun fact.
…also, the third one is in the sky. Duh.
