All support heroes nerfed in latest Heroes of the Storm patch notes

Headlines can be a little hyperbolic at times. This one is no exception. Not every single Heroes of the Storm Support is getting a nerf. That would be ridiculous. No, a single Support character is receiving a tiny buff to her healing in addition to a small nerf to her base health. I guess now we know who really runs the Nexus, eh Li Li?

More seriously, an across-the-board nerf to Support Heroes is something the dev team has been discussing for a while. Though many are glad to sing some ad hoc show tunes at these patch notes, this tuning pass is in line with what the devs have stated is their intent going forward. It seems a bit overwhelming to have it all here in one huge chunk of text, ripping off the band aid like this means we don’t have a weird, intentionally transitionary meta for a while where certain healers are more powerful just because they haven’t had their tuning pass with a nerf bat yet.

On the plus side, Sgt. Hammer is getting a pretty big buff this pass. She has a new self-preservation ability on her E key, and her Siege Mode is being moved to D as a Trait. This is in addition to a whole bunch of small tuning tweaks, most of which are making her a bit more powerful.

We’re planning to release a new patch for Heroes of the Storm in order to apply balance changes alongside a few bug fixes.
