How many paradoxes have you spotted leveling?
Things have gotten a little strange while leveling. I think the first thing I noticed was that every random Ogre, Satyr, Furbolg and Gnoll seems to have gotten the memo about me being a Lightforged Draenei. I mean, it’s just weird to me that every random mob trying to kill me knows exactly what I am. Especially since no Lightforged have ever been seen on Azeroth before the end of Legion.
But it wasn’t until I started getting around level 40 that things got really odd. I ended up in Theramore. I mean, I kind of knew it was still going to be there. But it still took me off guard to see Jaina there with no white in her hair and Pained still alive and all. And no, you can’t warn anyone about what’s coming. I tried. Then again I’m not really sure how much my Lightforged would even know about all this. He’s fresh off the Vindicaar and probably barely even knows who the Horde are. Sure, he would have seen them fighting the Legion. But it’s not like it mattered who was helping, considering how big the fight was.
Now he’s suddenly running around Ashenvale fighting Demons again. It feels like a case of didn’t we do this already. But the demons are there and it’s experience so we might as well do it again, I suppose. Leveling in World of Warcraft has been wonky for years. It’s only going to get weirder as we move into a world where you level in various zones like Silverpine and Arathi. Eventually you’ll see the Undercity get destroyed and the Horde all leave for Kalimdor. The whole leveling experience will be for a world that goes away as soon as you hit 120. That’s even if you roll a Zandalar and then immediately level through that now superseded content. I mean, Welcome to the Machine is too good a quest not to do it just because of a time paradox.
But yeah, my Lightforged is stranded in a Theramore outside of time. Have you any tales of temporal shenanigans while leveling up?
