The Queue: Perfectly symmetrical violence

This Queue, I’m going to dig into these questions. Let’s go!

GAWDZILLA

Q4tQ: What would you like to see from Nathanos in BFA Rossi?

His gruesome, permanent death.

Look, let me just put it out there — narratively speaking, it’s time for the Forsaken to get got. At the very least, perhaps it’s seriously time for certain major figures like Nathanos and yes, Sylvanas, to die. I have always maintained that Sylvanas is unkillable — that she has plot armor so strong there’s no way they could ever kill her off. She’s absolutely beloved by a large assortment of players, especially the ones who play Forsaken.

But recent spoilers for Before the Storm and Battle for Azeroth make me think that yes, they could actually kill off Sylvanas. There are at least two characters right now who could take her place and potentially be almost as accepted as she is. Battle for Azeroth actually could be her swan song, if Blizzard wanted it to happen. I’m not saying they do. I’m saying they could.

But whatever they do, I want there to be some flipping consequences for once. Over and over again in Warcraft, the Horde attacks and at best the Alliance punches back and at the end everyone has a bloody nose, nobody wins and everything is status quo. CataclysmMists of Pandaria, it doesn’t matter. Nothing ever changes. Even with Battle for Azeroth we see perfectly symmetrical wins and losses — each side loses a capital city and seeks out allies and invades the other side’s lands.

For once, I want the Horde to come out of one of these fights they start having lost something, while the Alliance gets to win. Not because I hate the Horde, but because I hate bullies. So whether it’s Nathanos or Sylvanas or the entirety of the Undercity, for once I want to see a faction war where one side gets whipped. And, if I were being honest, I then want the faction war to be over. Let the two factions actually sit down, negotiate a peace, and be done with it.

But yeah, I would like to see Nathanos die. At Tess Greymane’s hands.

Q4tQ: I was pleasantly surprised while levelling my Nightborne that they get access to the Eye of Aman’thul and it’s self rez ability out in the Legion zones. What’s the last thing that surprised you in Wow? Is there other hidden benefits you’d like to see given to Allied races/original races?

You know, I was pleasantly surprised by Void Elves. They’re cooler than I expected and the scenario it took to recruit them was more fun than I would have thought.

SIXTHOUSAND

Q4tQ: It’s a cold night and you come across a dead bear. You cut it open to sleep inside of it to stay warm. In the morning a group of druids come by and recognize the bear as one of their own. They heal the bear, bring it back to life and the bear then changes back into it’s normal druid form. You’re still inside the bear. What happens to you?

What kind of bear?

For that matter, I’m large enough that I likely wouldn’t be able to fit ALL of myself into a bear’s insides without sticking out enough that the druids would have seen me the second they arrived and found their dead friend. Especially if we’re talking, say, an American Black Bear.

But really, why would I even do this? I live in Edmonton, which is cold very often, sometimes as cold as -30c and I’ve never once felt the need to make an impromptu sleeping bag out of an animals carcass.

I’m pretty sure that the bear would have died again immediately upon being raised with a human being inside its chest cavity. Meanwhile, I likely would have suffocated long before any change to human form, and thus, I would already have been dead by the time they decided to change forms. All answers are either “This is silly” or “This is immediately fatal to both of us” as far as I can tell.

RYT
Q4tQ: What do you think will be our “unified endgame zone”? The zone that forces both Alliance and Horde into the same zone to either wage war or work together? From my understanding there won’t be much incentive to hang out around Zandalar/Kul’tiras at max level outside of War Mode as the opposite faction’s starter zones will be your max level zone. Personally I think with N’zoth and Azshara showing up it’ll be Nazjatar

I think all six zones will be our max level zones since we’re going to have world quests and the like there as well as the War Campaign. But as for the Argus of the next expansion, since I think that’s what you’re asking, I’ll say while I like your guess I’ll argue for a fully corrupted Teldrassil, since the Forsaken burning it allowed the Nightmare to essentially bloom the whole thing and N’Zoth waits for us atop its tallest branches.

Why? Cause I’m guessing.

Okay, that’s the Queue for today. I’ll see y’all next week.
