How was your Battle of Azeroth launch day experience?
WoW has had some smooth launches. It’s had some rough launches. (Looking at you, Warlords of Draenor.) By all accounts, yesterday’s launch of Battle of Azeroth was fairly smooth. A few high population servers went down and there was bad lag on a few others, but this only affected a small part of the player population unlike troubles from previous expansion launches. (Still you, Warlords.)
I logged on later in the evening after the 3pm Pacific launch so the server was very stable for me. I took my Alliance Monk to Kul Tiras and met Jaina’s judgey mom as well as her new bff, Lady Ashvane. I trained in a few gathering professions and then headed out for adventure in Drustvar.
And by adventure, I mean, I stopped at every herb, ore node, and fishing pool because other players will pay top dollar for their bounty right now. Soon though, I made myself get back on track, running the storyline quests of the zone, promising to stay focused on—ooh, is that a lost little girl singing death rhymes? Clearly I must investigate. For the good of the Alliance reputation in these new lands!
It went like that for most of the night until I dumped all my gathered profession raw materials on the AH at ridiculous prices and logged off.
Overall, one of the top launches for the game from my point of view. How did it go for you on day one?
