What’s something you’ll miss that was part of classic WoW but won’t be in WoW Classic?

Back in classic WoW, there was a bug called “wall-walking” which, well, it was exactly what it sounds like. There were a couple different techniques to wall-walking, but one allowed players to catch an edge of terrain and walk horizontally along whichever surface they were on basically until they ran out of space to walk. Now, it still took a bit of precision — one wrong movement of your mouse and you’d accidentally move vertically, cancelling the whole thing — but once you got used to it, it was pretty easy to pull off.

In the absence of flying mounts, there were a lot of locations in World of Warcraft that players couldn’t get to. Whether unfinished zones like Hyjal or simply the space between zones — e.g., the “mountains” between Feralas and Silithus — there was a plethora of content to explore… if you could get to it. I spent hours and hours and hours of my playtime using wall-walking to get into these zones and just explore. There was nothing particularly notable about most places — in fact, plenty were just missing textures, flat terrain, or death traps — but I still loved it. It was a peek behind the curtain that I could get because I knew how to wall-walk.

Not too surprisingly, wall-walking will not be part of World of Warcraft Classic. I don’t blame Blizzard for this decision, but I still can’t help but wonder how different the game will feel without this one specific thing. Of course, wall-walking isn’t the only thing that won’t be in WoW Classic. In choosing to leave the game at a certain patch — at least in terms of abilities and item effects — certain talent builds or playstyles you may remember won’t exist. Let’s not forget, classic WoW was basically a month-to-month overhauling of classes.

So today I want to know — what part of WoW Classic that Blizzard is deliberately not including are you going to miss? Is there an ability that didn’t make it to the pre-BC patch? Did you have the original epic mounts and wish you had a chance at them again? Let me know in the comments!
