How do you approach Season’s end in Diablo 3?

Diablo 3 Season 19 Summary

Blizzard let us know, ever so stealthily over Twitter, that Diablo 3‘s Season 19 is ending March 1, 2020. Now begins the usual flurry of panic — or sighs of relief as another theme that not maybe everyone has enjoyed.

I am in the latter group who is ready to be done with the current season. I usually knock out my journey grind about a month into the season (of casual, solo-play), the upside of prepping my goals prior. I can spend the rest of my season playing alts, leveling my Paragon points, and advancing the Greater Rift difficulty I can complete. Sometimes I even get to do so while hanging with you lovely people on our Twitch!

There are a few downsides to the above. It means by the end of the season, I’m either working towards a secondary goal I won’t likely hit, or I’ve paused my season advancement in favor of something else, like getting a cloak from a member of the Black Dragonflight. Also, while the talk around the virtual water cooler (and interest in the season) starts strong at the start, the arrival of next season’s PTR is usually the marker where interest shifts. Players get a taste of what is coming, and the end of PTR is generally the “couple weeks left” marker. There ends up being roughly a month-long lull. If you stick out the season until the bitter end, you may be doing it with very little company.

However, this doesn’t stress me out at all; first and foremost, in seasonal play, my ultimate goal is to do better than I did the previous season. This mindset tends to pair well with my casual solo-play mentality. Everything else is a bonus once I hit that point and complete the Season’s Journey.

If you’re in the “don’t have a plan” category, never fear! You have about a week and a half left. It would be a crunch, but you could complete an already started journey in that period.

Now I want to hear from you. Are you done and dusted with Season 19? Have you already hit Top 100 on your class leaderboards? Or are you winging it and hoping that come March 1, the adorable Angelic Treasure Goblin pet will be yours?
