The Queue: A long way to go
How’s everyone hanging in there? Hopefully okay. Me? Quarantine life is starting to get to me. It’s not the day-to-day so much (since mine has hardly changed) but more so the other, incidental things that are creeping up on me. Not visiting family for a weekend, not working from a coffee shop for even a few hours, and especially not knowing when any of that’s going to change. It’s exhausting.
Anyhow, in case quarantine life is getting to anyone, I want y’all to say something nice about another Queueman today. Go out of your way to make everyone here feel welcome and appreciated. Even that one guy. You know who I mean.
Now, let’s Queue.
What do you do in WoW (possibly for the next six months) when you’re already bored of Horrific Visions and Assaults?
Honestly? Take a break. There’s nothing wrong with taking a break if you don’t find yourself with anything to do in the game.
If you don’t want to take a break? Find something new to farm and go HAM on it for a while. Fill out your transmog sets, get a bunch of Rare-quality battle pets, or simply farm for achievement points. There’s likely a whole lot more to the game than there is in your normal activities.
Also, the Shadowlands alpha is hopefully soon. That might distract you for… a bit? (Though if history repeats, it’ll be maybe 30-40 minutes of testable content at first.)
I need the Queue’s help to reach 100 Exalted Reputations, would anyone in the Queue Horde-NA be willing to grind out the four goblin reps with me next week with the DMF on? I’ve heard it goes faster in a 5 man (but not a raid).
I’m putting this out there as a signal boost. I might join you if I have a free second (though that doesn’t seem too likely). Here’s a Q for you: Do you happen to know how long this would take?
It’s been a few weeks now since 8.3 dropped introducing the corruption system, how do you feel it’s panning out? I was extremely frustrated doing our farm raid last night because my DPS is stalling out because I can’t get high ilvl gear with Infinite Stars on it. I pride myself on often being the top of my heroic raiding group and now no matter what I do I can’t go top 5 because of corruption.
Past Mitch probably would’ve hated it, but I’m less about min/maxing nowadays, and I think it’s a cool system that doesn’t always make choices easy. I mean, it’s easy with Infinite Stars and it feels like that maaaay have needed more adjusting, but overall, I like the system. It’s not perfect, but it’s unique and I’m all for Blizzard experimenting with things that shake up the status quo a bit.
Q4Mitch: why did no one believe me when I mentioned that I’m now a writer for Blizzard Watch a few hours ago?
No clue, man. But it’s true! Welcome aboard! And also welcome to the other individual who’s joined our ranks. They technically said it yesterday, but I’ll let them do it more formally before spoiling it ;P
What was your favorite Blizzard April Fool’s Joke? Mine’s a tie between “Googly-eyed Overwatch” and “Achievement: Why Do They Keep Falling For That?”
I mean, I always love the patch notes… but there’s something so simple yet delightful about the googly eyes. Especially since they put them on Hanzo’s dragon and Torb’s turret. I think that’s what really pushes it into the top spot for me.
Q4tQ: are there any things in the April Fool’s patch notes that you’d like to actually have in the game? (Within reason.)
I’d like to see MOTHER’s Day, the mage portal achievement, new Xal’atath voice lines, and the Heroic Leap pirouette. :P
Xal’atath voice lines for sure! After that, I’d actually be curious to see a ranged DPS spec for Demon Hunters, assuming it gets fully fleshed out. And, of course, the achievement for a Dalaran Crater portal is too good not to include. Although, being the simple Priest I am, I’d like it to also apply to an Old Dalaran portal made with Jaina’s Locket.
Are you still enjoying Animal Crossing? 😄
100% absolutely yes. I’ve spent a ton of time playing it and I still wish I’d spent more time playing. I just got my terraforming tools yesterday (that is, Wednesday), and those open up a whooole new aspect of the game. I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of how I can customize my village. It’s as addicting as ever, and I really wish I could be living on an actual island full of cute villagers right now.
Following on from that, what’s the oddest item you’ve gotten so far either as a random drop from balloon, fallen out of a tree, a gift from a villager or has been on sale at Nook’s Cranny?
Man, I’ve gotten a lot of random things, but I think the one that sticks out most is a Kitty Litter Box that… I think came from a balloon? Either way, it’s weird in a world full of anthropomorphic animals, and I am absolutely going to give it to Raymond and see if he’ll put it in his home.
Yes, I have Raymond in my village.
That’s all for today! Don’t forget to be nice to your fellow Queuemans! See ya next week :)
