The Queue: Birthday Bear!

Hey, it’s my birthday! This is obviously the third reason why October is the best month. Honestly, it’s like the other months aren’t even trying. It’s gonna be pretty quiet for me here, nothing crazy planned. Maybe I’ll get sushi. Like a lot of sushi. Sushi makes everything better in my experience. Probably some cake too.

But before I dig into the cake, it’s time for — The Queue.

LIZ COULD BE HEADED FOR SOME SERIOUS STRIFE

Q4tQ: What spec should I use for leveling my Druid?

I’m a big fan of leveling in Bear. You’re so hard to kill and do pretty solid AOE damage so you can make big pulls. Sure you won’t kill single targets very quickly, but you’ll be able to kill five or six things at once which tends to speed things up. Slap Feral Affinity on and you’ll even have that nice 15% speed bump all the time. You’ll be a speedy bear thrashing and swiping your way to victory.

Plus you’ll get speedier dungeon queues if you play as a tank. Although, if you want the fastest dungeon queues it’s probably the healers who get the quickest ones.

I don’t play Balance at all, so I don’t know if the new changes have made it better. Starfall all the things? Cat is probably fine, you’ll just be squishier than Bear so make sure that you take the time to top your health up before engaging in big pulls.

ENO MAKES THE SCENE ALL DAY

QftQ: Speaking as somebody who hasn’t played the Shadowlands beta at all! Do you think we’ll see Medivh in the Shadowlands, or is he not truly dead?

QftQ: When I get to leveling all ten of my allied race characters from level 25 to 50, where should I ideally level them? Should I go on and get them through Warlords content to open their garrison just to get that over with in case they may have some use of it?

I haven’t seen Medivh yet, but he’s a tricky fellow. We could still find him hiding out somewhere in Oribos having managed to escape from the Arbiter’s judgment. Maybe he’s the reason the machinery of Death has broken! Typical Medivh.

If you’re looking for maximum value from your newly leveled characters doing the Warlords of Draenor, Legion, and Battle for Azeroth openings can’t hurt. Warlords has the garrison Hearthstone, Legion has the Dalaran Hearthstone, and visiting your capital in Battle means that their portal is available in the Portal room. I’ve used those Hearthstones so many times, it’s never a bad idea to have them.

I know that Warlords gets a bad rap as an expansion. It’s definitely not my favorite either, but I contend that’s mostly a pacing and lack of content issue. The stuff we did get during Warlords all felt excellent. Great leveling, fun raids (Blackhand excepted that jerk still won’t give me a mount), and it was cool seeing unexploded Draenor. We just needed more of it — like a bunch more.

BUT TOMORROW THERE’LL BE ELAINE DE SHALOTT TO PAY

QftQ: Should Blizzard remove crafted items from leveling quests in old expansions? Asked as I hunt down an engineering item for Wrath.

Yeah at this point it’d be a good idea. If they’re deadset on having the item still be a requirement for the quest, maybe have some vendor items nearby that you could combine to make the item in question regardless of profession. Just make them more expensive than what it’d cost someone to make if they had the appropriate skill. Not prohibitively, but enough that it’s more of a choice on whether you want to check with a friend who might have Blacksmithing or Engineering before you bought the bits.

JAXDADDY LISTEN ATTENTIVELY

QftQ: What is your favorite place in Pandaria (besides Susong Ranch)?

Complementary QftQ: Where would you want to live Pandaria (besides Susong Ranch)? There are some little mountaintop houses in the Jade Forest that are very appealing to me.

Same answer for both.

Zouchin village on the northern shore of Kun Lai. I love the idea of living in a little coastal fishing village. The smell of the sea, fresh fish, and Zouchin isn’t that far from both the mountains and an island covered in dinosaurs. So you’ve got every weekend trip covered for the rest of time.

But your answer of the tiny houses perched precariously on the top of the Jade Forest mountain things is also a good idea. Supply logistics aside, moving into a new home is bad enough, but if that home is on the top of a tiny mountain with no stairs — forget about it.

I MEAN ABOUT FUTURE WUNDERBOLT

Question for you all: Is WoW the largest program on your computer?

It is! I have a smaller SSD dedicated pretty much just to my Warcraft and main system files. But I also have the PTR and Shadowlands beta on that same drive. Both of which do take up a more than zero amount of space. At least they can share files so they’re not as massive as they used to be. Thankfully.

I keep all of my other games on a second drive and tend to be fairly ruthless when it comes to removing them after I’ve played them.

THERE IS A PLACE WHERE ETERNALLY FIRE IS APPLIED TO KALCHEUS

Q4tQ Do you wait for the elevator to get down from the flight trainer/zeppelin depot from Orgrimmar, or do you jump down?

YEET!

MISTAH JAY WILL BE REVEALED ON THE OTHER SIDE

Q4tQ: Should Worgen in Human Form look different to normal humans (height, weight, muscle density, etc)?

I like the Human form being the same for the Gilneans before they shift into their Werewolf form. I mean most Werewolves in movies and tv aren’t that different looking when they’re just going about their day-to-day lives. It’s fine that they don’t have extra hair, or are all uniformly lanky like wolves.

But they should definitely have the same eye options in both. It feels weird that the wolf has heterochromia and the human doesn’t. Maybe Blizzard will put that into a future update if we ask them nicely enough.
