The Queue: Wrong turn in Albuquerque

My group finally downed Mythic Hungering Destroyer! Don’t ask me how Blackhand got there though. Someone must’ve been messing with some wacky time streams. Who knew that he was the hero that we needed all along?

We wound up using four tanks to kill Destroyer and it ended up trivializing the extra debuff mechanic pretty much, it just took a long time for people to stop running the big deadly laser beams on top of each other.

While we get ready to save the soul of the Sun-King, I take you now to — The Queue.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD KALCHEUS GONE?

Q4tQ: Mortal, what’s your preference? Dagger, sword, or axe?

If it’s one-handed, Axe. If it’s two-handed, sword.

I just really like swinging around giant swords. My Eivor in Assassins Creed Valhalla has a pair of amazingly huge swords that she somehow manages to swing with some grace and power. Since my Druid can’t do that, I mostly give him Polearms. They’re pretty close to being giant swords, especially the Hellreaver from Hellfire Penninsula.

AND WHERE ARE ALL THE RC THE AUTUMN ELADRINS?

Q4tQ: Are there any games that you see other people play (either streaming or otherwise) that you think “That looks like fun”, but then you play it and realise it wasn’t as much fun as you thought?

For me, although I haven’t played it yet, I think Valheim looks fun, but I know I’d start playing and then get bored or frustrated or both almost immediately.

I have played Valheim exactly once. It came out while I’ve been really busy, and my friends are all super into it right now, but between work, getting my raids, Mythic Keystones, and spending time stabbing people as Eivor, I haven’t had much time.

I did enjoy my time in Valheim, I got given a bunch of easy starter gear by my friends and promptly took my new pick-axe outside of the settlement and started trying to see how deep down I could dig. It wound up being a fairly impressive ravine! Then I realized that leaving a giant ravine outside of the front gate was a little rude, so I built a nice covered bridge over it. All in all, it was a great way to spend an afternoon.

As for your question, I’m cheating a bit because it’s super boring to actually watch any of the big important events, but man do I love reading about the shenanigans people in EVE Online get up to. I love hearing about the giant piles of ships all crammed into small areas battling over giant death-dealing space stations. I’ve spent about a week playing EVE and it’s super not a game that I really find fun, but good on everyone who is waging their best intergalactic empire lives!

WHERE’S THE STREETWISE ENO TO FIGHT THE RISING ODDS

But what would you name your pirate dragon? Eh eh?

Captain Roderick, the Scourge of the Vast Eon Horizon, Shredder of Seconds, Terror of the Timeways, Lurker in the Moments between Blinks.

Although that might be a bit overwrought. If he got a couple more titles he’d be giving Daenerys a run for her money. Something a little more manageable would be Captain Tempus the Terrible, or maybe just something along the lines of — Please stop eating my crew, I’ll give you whatever you want!

ISN’T THERE A XIV UPON A FIERY STEED

Will you be changing your legendaries come 9.0.5?

I had been playing with the idea of upgrading my second-best legendary to try it in dungeons, but kept postponing it because it involved a hefty price for a 235 base piece for the upgrade, in addition to an even pricier i200 ring (equivalent to the neck piece being replaced). I had the dust from who knows what activity, most likely accompanying guildies to TorghLoL.

I guess I’ll go ahead and do it anyway.

Luckily for me the legendary that I use is still going to be really strong. So I don’t have any plans to change that up, but I may wind up making another couple just to have some variety. I love getting my Thrash, to proc Thrash, to proc Thrash, and so on ad infinitum with my Ursoc’s Fury Remembered. But I have been missing the sheer power of my cooldown if I use Legacy of the Sleeper. I hope that we hear something soon about when and if we’ll be able to wear multiple legendaries in Shadowlands — because the two of those together would make me into the fiercest bear on this side of the cosmos.

Now if only the price of the leather materials would fall on my servers…

I’M HOLDING OUT FOR A RED ‘TILL THE END OF THE NIGHT

Which versions of WoW are you playing right now (Retail / Classic)?

– Only Retail
– Only Classic
– Both Retail and Classic
– Neither

Classic has never really appealed to me beyond hearing what nonsense people are getting up to. I love the stories that are coming out of it, but I’ve been there and done that. I’m happy with the changes that have come over the years. So I’m firmly in the Retail only section right now. Maybe I’ll readjust when the Burning Crusade Classic comes out. If only to take another trip to the original Karazhan.

Here’s the poll if you missed it!

TANDO’S GOTTA BE STRONG, HE’S GOTTA BE FAST, AND HE’S GOTTA BE FRESH FROM THE FIGHT

Question – Blizzard Watch: The other day I went into tomb of sarge, thinking I would be able to solo it on mythic. I was unsuccessful on my 210 Balance Druid. What is going on that we can’t solo two expansions ago content ? Thanks!

The Legion raids were on track to be soloable by now, but then the level squish happened. It smoothed out their power along with the reduced levels to the point that we’re not that much stronger than them in our current gear. It’s pretty lame that they didn’t get an additional buff or something to help characters at 60+ go in there and stomp them. There are more than a few pieces I want from them for Transmog. Not to mention the mounts from Antorus, the Burning Throne. Give it a couple of patches worth of gear and we’ll probably be able to solo them.

Today’s Anna Earworm™: Holding out for a Hero

Have a wonderful week everyone, I hope that patch 9.0.5 treats you nicely! Don’t forget to ask Anna all of the questions about Valor points tomorrow!
