The Queue: Darkness is our natural home
It’s not my usual jam, but Mitch can’t be here today so I wanted to try and make y’all feel at home.
It’s the Queue. Only through the embrace of total madness can we make sense of a world that does not care that we exist.
Was that too much? I’m trying here.
What were the first shoulder slot you remember getting?
Rough bronze shoulders for me.
I remember going to some effort to get the mats together to craft the Green Iron Shoulders. I know I had other shoulders before those, but I don’t recall what they were, but I remember wearing the GIS for a while.
So, in case someoneneeds to know this, Build-a-Bear is launching a new Animal Crossing line soon.
I know.
In fact, I knew literally the second it was possible to know, because my wife rolled over while I was sleeping to wake me up and inform me of this.
Q4TQ: Do D3 followers benefit from the wardrobe? I’d love to be able to swap between GR push and farming sets for example, and have it include my follower. Also: Do we know if Legendaries like Goldskin stack if they are both on your character and your follower? Thank you,
As far as I know, they don’t benefit from transmog, but perhaps that will end up happening when the feature goes live. And I’m fairly certain that no, you can’t wear Goldskin yourself and have your Follower wear it to stack the benefit.
have you ever had a “stick a fork in me i am done” moment when raiding or playing? What do you do when it happens ?
Yeah, in Siege of Orgrimmar.
My eyesight was getting worse and worse, although I didn’t know yet that I was going blind, and the raid fights were getting very gimmicky. The Norushen fight where you as the tank drop into another realm of existence and fight to get back out cleansed was just impossible for me — I couldn’t see enough. I got so mad I basically just quit raiding entirely, and I’ve never gone back to progression raiding.
Ultimately, I really was done. But if you’re asking me less about the big, this is it, I’m done with this moments and more the ugh, I need to stop now kind, yeah, I have those too. I usually just go do something else — take a bio, walk around, stop for a snack, read. Give yourself time to cool off, you know?
What might the significance be of the Broker’s banter in the Broker’s den? For instance this line struck me: “When power is coupled with desire, yes. But beings like the Archon and the Winter Queen want only souls. And that, we cannot give them. Yet.”
If it doesn’t turn out that the Brokers are straight up supervillains plotting a greed-fueled attempt to subvert and dominate the Shadowlands, perhaps in concert with the Jailer, or perhaps attempting to take advantage of the chaos he’s creating and profit from his machinations, I will be amazed. At this point, the most shocking thing Blizzard could do is reveal that the Brokers are awesome and want to save us all, because literally every single overheard utterance they make is nearly on the level of a sinister muah-ha-ha chortled out while cradling a white cat and crushing a diorama of the Shadowlands.
These guys aren’t subtle with it, is what I’m saying.
YASSSSSS that works! Thank you Santa Rossi!
You’re welcome. I like peanut butter cookies, fyi.
Q4tQ: Anyone else adore Marileth? I don’t mind one bit being his apprentice. I think he’s my undead crush xD
Let me just say that while I wouldn’t say I adored him, I would say I disliked him a lot, lot less than I expected to. I was even kind of sad for him when you get through his whole quest and he’s so obviously emotionally compromised by what happened to his House. Sure, he’s a horrible undead purveyor of disease, but he has feelings.
Q4tQ: Do you enjoy solo content in WoW, or do you think challenging content should be groups only? Because it is, after all, an MMO.
Personally, I loved Mage Tower, HVs, and I am warming up to Torghast (although I wish the latter rewarded, well, anything).
A game being massively multiplayer doesn’t mean that all the content should require a group to complete, just that there be a large group of players exploring a persistent world that can group to complete content especially designed for that. In my opinion, solo content is necessary to help games thrive, especially since there are a variety of reasons why some players simply can’t do a lot of group content — scheduling, time constraints, disability, etc etc.
I didn’t bother with the Mage Tower, but I did like Horrid Visions and I do like Torghast. I think more soloable content is always good to balance out group content and let players who have reasons they can’t make a group play. In general, I find the idea that because a game has multiplayer that you need to make players engage in grouping to be unnecessarily restrictive.
Okay, that’s the Queue for this week. The Void devours your brain and renders you a minion of the inner night that waits to drink your tears at the crescendo of existence.
That’s… probably too much. Right? A bit over the top? It’s honestly hard for me to gauge how black the bottomless infinity of Mitch’s soul actually is. He’ll be back next week so hopefully if I’m not getting it down you’ll get your dose of dark, blasphemous whispers from him.
Your friends will explode and your heart will abandon you.
