The Queue: Heart

Well, it finally happened. Cory finally got me with an earworm. And I’m not even mad about it.

This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we’ll go cra-a-aaazy on ya.

Only if it functioned identically to Zen Flight, basically meaning it’s just kind of a crummy way to use your existing ability to mount. I’m not opposed to the randomly flying around bit — they do sort of have wings — but if they got to use it in places where people ordinarily wouldn’t be able to fly, that would kinda suck. I mean, they can already double jump to make those environments a little easier than everyone else. They don’t need additional help.

There are very few classes that don’t have an easily justified way to fly. Mages should be able to conjure some kind of flying thing for themselves. Hunters can tame wyverns, they should be able to ride them. Surely Warlocks can summon some kind of demon with big enough wings to carry them both. The odd class out is Warriors, though I suppose sometimes I get so mad I feel like I could lift off the ground by virtue of unbridled rage, so, you know what, sure.

What-ing of the whomst?

In some ways, Mondays are nicer than the rest of the week, because you can grab comments early and often, so there are a bunch of questions and very little actually sifting, especially since there’s basically no news. By contrast, Tuesday and Wednesday Queues tend to be filled with chatter about either the news that dropped all surprise-like, or anticipation for upcoming releases, which is totally fine and understandable — we work here, not y’all — but also makes for very few actual questions and usually a lot of just using un-questioning commentary for my own commentary.

While it’s true that Cory is the most recent Queue host, and therefore the most likely to get bullied by the rest of us, it’s just kind of coincidence that he ended up with Monday. I believe he took over from Anne, without much calendar shuffling, but it’s been a while.

I still have a bunch of random Korthia stuff to finish up, but WoW isn’t really my priority right now. I have a bunch of IRL stuff going on — Girl Scout cookie sales and getting ready to do some serious outdoors stuff when it warms up in the next couple weeks, mostly — so it’s not really going to get done.

I’m okay with that, though. My tendency with WoW for the past few expansions is to jump right in initially in order to do stuff for the site, and then kinda slack off and finish way later. It suits me for a number of reasons, but the best one is that I don’t really feel that pressure to get stuff done on a timetable. I’ll get to it when I get to it. Que sera sera, etc.
